BEHOLD! New Music Videos That Hit The Sweet Spot

Let’s see what’s happening in this week’s Sweet Releases news…

Watch out Netflix and Hulu! There’s a new streaming service in town! After launching in November of 2019, Disney+ has hit 50 million subscribers worldwide! This is an incredible feat for the new streaming giant, considering it’s still not available in all countries, but it is available in more than a dozen. Chairman, Kevin Mayer, had this to say, “We’re truly humbled that Disney+ is resonating with millions around the globe, and believe this bodes well for our continued expansion throughout Western Europe and into Japan and all of Latin America later this year.” We can’t wait for everyone to be able to experience Disney+, and we look forward to what’s to come for the franchise!

Neck Deep

Get ready for this news from everyone’s favorite pop-punk band, Neck Deep. The band has announced a Fall 2020 tour to bring their newest album All Distortions Are Intentional to a city near you! We don’t know about you, but we could sure use an amazing show after this quarantine, so get ready to see us front row center! For full tour dates and ticketing information, visit their website!

Falling In Reverse

Falling In Reverse recently released their new single ‘Popular Monster,’ which is now the #1 Rock radio song in the country! This single is the bands FIRST #1 single of their career, which we find hard to believe. Nonetheless, they deserve it, and we couldn’t be more excited for them! We look forward to seeing what else 2020 has in store for the band! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for more new music!

Post Malone

If you’ve been missing Posty performances as much as we have, it’s time to check out his YouTube channel! On April 24th, Post Malone performed a Nirvana-inspired Livestream. He performed some fan favorites, including ‘Come As You Are’ and ‘Drain You.’ The event was held to raise funds for The United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization (WHO) in support of COVID-19 relief efforts. The campaign has reached almost $5M out of the $7.5M goal, and if you’d like to donate, the fundraiser is still open. All you have to do is click the blue donate button under the video

One of our favorite bands, and hopefully yours, Beartooth, has launched a web series! It started on April 30th on the band’s YouTube channel. The series is titled Beartooth: Re-Live At Home and new episodes air every Thursday at 1 PM EST. The series showcases the filmed sets from Oberhausen and London during The Disease Tour. You can catch up on the already aired episodes as well as prepare for the next two, which will air on May 14th and May 21st. It’s a great way to experience an amazing Beartooth concert from the safety of your home!

The Pretty Reckless

We have some big news for you, The Pretty Reckless fans! The group has just signed to Fearless Records, which is massive news. This also means you can watch their first appearance since signing with Fearless at the Fearless At Home event. Fearless At Home took place on May 9th and was streamed through Fearless Records’ YouTube channel. With the event, we were blessed with seeing Taylor Momsen perform an acoustic set! Reliving the event will keep us all busy while we wait for the groups much anticipated single, which we promise will be here soon! This is only the start for The Pretty Reckless’ new journey with Fearless, and we are very excited to see what comes next!

The Avett Brothers

The Avett Brothers musical Swept Away has been in the back of our minds since the day it was announced. We’ve been looking forward to the premiere, but due to Covid-19, it has now had to be rescheduled. Don’t fret, though, because when Summer 2021 rolls around, you can catch us front row and ready to go! If you’ve already purchased tickets, that’s okay because ticket holders will be assigned similar seats and dates for the new premiere. We don’t mind waiting a little longer for something that we KNOW is going to be incredible!

The Blue Stones

The Blue Stones aren’t losing our attention anytime soon! The new single ‘Shakin’ Off The Rust,’ which is off of their soon to be released sophomore album, has us excited for what’s to come. Also, a congratulation is in store, the single has landed them, for the first time, in the Top 5 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Radio and also their first #1 in Billboard Canadian Rock Radio! We are sure this is the first of many #1 songs to come. You can catch the duo continuously live streaming across social media, so keep an eye out for that!

Fight voter suppression! Get politically active and enjoy live music and poetry at the same time. Who knew politics could be fun? Voices To Protect The Vote is a free event courtesy of the JusticeAid Board who will match every dollar contributed up to $100,000. This is all to support grassroots efforts to remove barriers to voting, ensure safe, and fair access to the voting process. On May 18th at 7 PM EST performances will begin featuring Paula Cole, David Shaw, and Zack Feinberg of The Revivalists, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, and more. This is a FREE event, but any donation helps the cause and will be matched up to $100,000. The whole thing starts at 7 PM EST on YouTube, so don’t be late!

Peter Gabriel

Mark June 12th on your calendars because Peter Gabriel is giving us the gift of music- all of his film music in one place. Rated PG is a collection of his music for films. The only other time this collection has been in one place was for a limited time, and that was for a limited edition picture disc that was out for Record Store Day 2019. This is coming to us in two forms: re-release on black vinyl LP and a first-time release on CD. There are 9 lovely tracks to be heard on June 12th, 2020, and while you wait, maybe check out ‘Every Bird,’ which premiered on June 12th, 2019.

Has quarantine got you down? Yeah, we feel you there! Luckily for you, Florida based band KIDS has announced a new contest sure to bust you out of those lockdown blues. For a limited time, KIDS has partnered with Spirit Airlines to provide one lucky newlywed couple free flights to their post-quarantine dream honeymoon. The contest is open from Wednesday, May 13th, and winners will be announced on Friday, May 15th. As a bonus, fans who enter the contest will also be entered in a contest to have their photos or videos considered for inclusion in the next KIDS music video. Talk about a win-win!

For a chance to win flights or inclusion in KIDS’ new live video, follow these steps on Instagram:

  1. Follow @thebandkids and @spiritairlines
  2. Share a video or photo of your quarantine engagement or wedding and use the hashtags #happilyeverquarantined and #morego

Have you ever wished you could reach out and let the bands you love know how much they mean to you? If you’re anything like us at The Honey Pop, then you know the feeling of wishing you could show those bands you care about. Luckily for us (and with a little help from the magic of the internet), BandBond has come to radically change the way we interact with the bands we love. Thanks to the new BandBond app, fans of bands like Of Mice & Men, Napalm Death, and other Metal favorites now have a convenient way to access the content their favorite band’s release. How metal is that? As new details and features are unveiled, we’re sure you’re going to want to stay tuned!

Catbite will be splitting a 7” with another band called Omnigone. They recently covered an older song by The Clash called ‘White Riot,’ which will appear on the 7” as well as Omnigone revamping Link 80’s ‘Nothing New.’ Catbite did a great job capturing the essence of the time while still giving it a new age twist. Catbite is a blending of ska with 50’s rock, soul, and punk, so it’s no wonder they are masters of blending new and old sound. The two bands will be releasing the 7” on June 5th, 2020, but you can listen to Catbite’s cover of The Clash right now

Moby Rich

LA-based alt-pop duo Moby Rich has returned with a new emotionally-charged single ‘Friends,’ and we here at The Honey Pop are feeling the vibes. This bass-heavy, infectiously catchy single features the talented, multi-platinum songstress Bishop Briggs for some much-needed emotional release. If you’re a fan of alt-pop, or you just need a little release after that tricky break-up, then give ‘Friends’ a try. We’ll be here when you need us!

Joe Mantegna & Gary Sinise

Due to our current crisis, the annual West Lawn Memorial Day concert will be held online by PBS. PBS’ Memorial Day Concert: America’s Night of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, May 24 at 8 PM EST! Hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, the event will feature performances and appearances from General Colin L. Powell, Reneé Fleming, Cynthia Erivo, Trace Adkins, and CeCe Winans. Messages from guest artists will be woven throughout the program, in honor of our servicemen and women who are overseas and at home, including key workers. The program will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and the PBS website, and will be available for re-watch until June 7. Here at The Honey Pop, we would like to thank those who are protecting us every day.

The Imaginaries

Husband and wife duo Shane Henry and Maggie McClure of The Imaginaries have had their fair share of difficulties. Now they’re back and ready to be revived. The world is on hold, so it’s the perfect time to release their new single ‘Revival.’ The duo says “Revival is a spiritual song about finding hope and salvation.” Be on the lookout because ‘Revival’ is releasing June 12th. Until the single is released, the duo will be playing a series of Livestream’s, the first of which was NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall’s Rockwood Livestream Concerts. This one took place on May 7th, but don’t fret if you missed it because you’ll be able to catch the next one! Keep an eye on their socials for updates on those!
