Besties, it’s happening. The first teaser photo for ‘Butter‘ by BTS is officially here, and there’s so much to unpack.

The Hair™ of BTS
First, we have to discuss the hair. Between rainbow Jimin, pink Joon, blonde Hobi, Taehyung and Jin’s foreheads, mullet Yoongi, and purple ponytail Jungkook, our heads are spinning. This teaser photo shows the boys in varying renditions of dapper suits and slicked-back hairstyles, leading many ARMYs to wonder if we might get a casino concept. Y’all, it’s giving rich.
Teasers
Previously, BTS released a teaser poster that showed objects in an afterparty-like environment, including a crushed lollipop, smiley face balloons, and a camera, among other items. In the concept clips, each item was revealed to coordinate with a member. The videos showed the members posing over three different beats that truly embody the energy of ‘super retro disco-pop new age acoustic ballad,’ per RM’s Weverse comment. In other words, we have no idea what to expect from this comeback. Besides excellence, of course.
So what is the concept?
Already, whatever the concept for ‘Butter’ is, it feels like a natural progression from their last English single, ‘Dynamite.’ Where ‘Dynamite’ was funky, bright, and undeniably joyful, ‘Butter’ feels like its sophisticated older cousin.
Officially, ‘Butter’ has been described as a dance-pop track brimming with BTS’ signature charisma. The official Twitter account began tweeting #smoothlikebutter on May 8.
Get ready to grow!
Ever since the massive success of ‘Dynamite,’ their very first single in English, more eyes than ever have been on BTS. ‘Dynamite‘ became the group’s first number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and has accumulated more than 800 million streams. It’s true that with every comeback, ARMY gets a little bigger. There’s no doubt in our minds that ‘Butter’ is going to be a smash hit just like all of BTS’s comebacks. New ARMYs are going to be attracted to BTS like flies to honey butter.
Not to mention, on May 26, the BTS Meal at McDonald’s launches. The meal includes a ten-piece McNuggets, medium fries, medium drink, and two new sauces – Sweet Chili and Cajun. It will be featured across nearly 50 countries and six continents, introducing BTS to even more demographics in a brand new way.
