Sister duo Aly & AJ have recently exploded back onto the music scene, and they’re getting ready to own this summer’s Lollapalooza stage. The two trended on Twitter moments after the 2021 festival lineup was announced, with fans making waves over the duo’s placement near the bottom of the list.

Regardless, fans are pumped to see their faves perform their sonically revamped new songs, and some goldies as well. Likewise, Aly & AJ themselves are excited to perform, tweeting the following just minutes after the official lineup was announced:

On May 7th, they released their fourth album, A Touch of the Beat Gets You Up on Your Feet Gets You Out and Then Into the Sun, lending fire to their 2007 hit single ‘Potential Breakup Song‘ blowing up on TikTok. The pop/pop-rock album comes after a 14-year hiatus and has been charting ever since. Aly & AJ celebrated what felt like their first album release all over again with a virtual concert put on the day of A Touch of the Beat Gets You Up on Your Feet Gets You Out and Then Into the Sun‘s release. The album has since been described as “awash in sun-drenched guitars, luminous melodies and an indie-rock sensibility” by Nylon. Sounds like the song of the summer resides on this record.
