Our fiery female-empowered Friday night for Fletcher in Fort Lauderdale kicked off with Verite, followed by Fletcher for her Girl Of My Dreams tour, and these two powerhouses gave us everything we wanted and more!
Verite
Verite started us off, and she did not disappoint. Self-described as “alt-pop” in an interview we did with her back in 2020 (which you can check out here!), she kicked off her set with ‘he’s not you,’ followed by ‘younger woman’ and ‘think of me.’ Her set-up was simple: a keyboard and double-mic set-up accompanied by a guitarist and drummer, but she dazzled us with her unique aura and incredible voice. If we had to describe the power and storytelling of her voice, we would say it is like Olivia Rodrigo meets Hayley Williams.
Fletcher Was The ‘Girl of Our Dreams’
Fletcher followed to headline for us, and despite not being able to physically fit all of her grand stage equipment through the venue door, she gave us an amazing show. Accompanying her was the talented band and a few props like some old oil barrels, a screen, and what looked like a warehouse garage door for the ultimate grunge warehouse-show feel. She started the show with ‘Guess We Lied’ and ‘Conversations’ (which had us singing “in my head” a bunch of times in our heads) and filled the room with her unique, angsty, and female-empowering vibe. Featured on her setlist was the tour titled ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ (a beautiful acoustic moment) and ‘Birthday Girl.’
Some of our highlights of the show were the acoustic songs, Fletcher laying and posing on the drum stand (which was just an absolute vibe), and a bad*ss change of outfit into a leather jacket and shorts with knee-high platform chunky boots.
