Maggie Rogers To Set Off On The Feral Joy Tour This Winter – Here Is Our Dream Setlist!

Maggie Rogers – you know, the girl that made Pharrell cry – has announced The Feral Joy Tour in support of her latest record, Surrender. The songstress will make a pit stop in key cities with the help of musician and record producer Del Water Gap who lent his talent to Surrender’s tracks ‘Want Want’ and ‘Anywhere With You.’

The 2023 North American Tour trails the singer’s shows in Ireland, England, and Scotland and will begin in late winter in Boston and conclude in San Francisco.

With that being said, here are our favorite songs from Surrender that we hope to hear on tour.

Our Favorite Maggie Rogers Songs To Memorize For The Feral Joy Tour

‘Overdrive’

Produced with Kid Harpoon, ‘Overdrive’ highlights Rogers‘ blissful vocals over top of a whimsical foundation comprised of distinguishing productive makings, synth, and direct storytelling. The lyrics depict the beginning of the end of love and the regrets that entail. She sings, “My love, would you walk. / For hours just to talk? / You did it better when you were on my side. / Covered in leather, now you are in overdrive.”

‘That’s Where I Am’

‘That’s Where I Am’ was the first official tasting of Rogers’ sophomore record following her debut record, Heard It In a Past Life. It’s the opposite of slow; it’s an unruffled anthem packed with aplomb. The audio is a blossomy capriccio that channels Nirvana, and we can’t wait to sing this one at the top of our lungs.

‘Want Want’

‘Want Want’ sees Rogers collaborating with former bandmate S. Holden Gaffe (Del Water Gap), who is also opening the tour. Primal instincts of lust and yearning gloss the lyrics. Rogers says about the song, “It was really just about the fun of it all. Some bubblegum world to escape to in the middle of the isolation and darkness.”

‘Begging For Rain’

Track eight exhibits the ‘Alaska’ singer’s raw craft as it proves that Rogers has grown as a songwriter. She basks in senseless meaning as she sings, “I try my best to not be bitter / Give my rage a babysitter / Stop waiting for the adults to come home / It’s a firework and you can’t stop it / I’m cutting holes in all the pockets / Of everyone that’s calling me insane.”
