Binge-Worthy Buzz: Buzzing New Shows For You

binge-worthy buzz

Hello, honeybees, and welcome to a new edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, our weekly series where we give you a series of recommendations of what to watch next. We have a lot to get to this week, so let’s get started.

The Santa Clauses

If you say you didn’t watch The Santa Clause as a kid during the Holiday season, you’re straight-up lying, ok? Everyone loves those films, and we don’t know about you, but we definitely still watch them every year to this day. But as much as we’d love to just nerd out about the Santa Clause movies, we’re actually here today to talk about a new addition to the franchise: the Disney+ show The Santa Clauses. You heard that right, Scott Calvin, a.k.a. Santa Claus, is back! It’s been nearly thirty years since he first stepped into the boots of the last Santa Claus.

And he seems to love it as much as we do. But lately, Christmas‘ popularity has been declining (shocking, right?), and with it, goes some of Santa’s magic. That situation puts Scott in a pretty hard situation. He has to keep up with his job and also be there for his family, being a good husband and father. That demand leads him to find out there’s a way to possibly step down as Santa and he actually considers doing so. But first, he has to find a worthy successor. The show drops on Disney+ just in time for a Holiday-themed marathon, on November 16.

Zootopia+

Continuing with the trend of Disney+ series derived from movies we love, the next show on our list is Zootopia+, set in the same universe as the hit movie Zootopia. During the movie, Judy and Nick meet many interesting characters while trying to solve the crimes that have been happening all over Zootopia, and we got curious about many of those characters.

So Disney heard our wish and decided to give us a show where Zootopia residents like Fru Fru, the arctic shrew, ZPD dispatcher Clawhauser, and Flash, the sloth, are the main focus. We can’t wait to watch it! It’s a good thing it’s already on Disney+, huh?

Robo Mundial

It’s not just the Holidays that are around the corner, the World Cup is also only a few days away. Because of that, we thought it’d be appropriate to recommend Robo Mundial, a new Hulu series about a group of friends who plans to steal the Cup. Yes, we know that sounds insane, but that’s what makes this a good watch!

Basically, four friends have already bought tickets and booked the hotel for the next World Cup. But out of nowhere, Argentina is eliminated in the last qualifying match, shattering their hopes of watching their national team play for the Cup. And it’s with that “we got nothing to lose” mindset that they decide to take matters into their own hands and steal the World Cup. If you’re also interested in this heist, Robo Mundial is already available on Hulu.

Revenge Of Others

Another Hulu show we think you should check out is Revenge of Others. The Korean drama takes place at Yongtan High, where a student, Park Wonseok, has just fallen to his death from the roof of the school. Everyone seems to accept that he took his own life, except for his sister, Ok Chanmi.

Determined to prove she is right about her brother, she transfers to Yongtan High to find out more about the situation her brother was in. There, she meets Ji Soonheon, who witnessed Wonseok’s death. At the same time, a hero appears at their school, and they seem especially determined to avenge kids who get bullied. Chanmi suspects this hero may have something to do with her brother and decides to start looking for more information on them. Revenge of Others is already available on Hulu.

Fleishman is in Trouble

Do you love Jesse Eisenberg? We love Jesse Eisenberg! That’s why we cheered when we found out he’s starring in a new series coming out on Hulu on November 17: Fleishman is in Trouble. Jesse is Toby Fleishman, a recently divorced 41-year-old ready to re-enter the dating scene, this time with the help of dating apps. With this, he’s hoping to have the luck he didn’t have when he was younger (before he married his ex right before graduating from med school, of course.) But his plans of having his first summer as a single man are quickly spoiled when his ex, Rachel, vanished to who knows where, and now he has their two kids to worry about.

Hannah and Solly are placed under his care immediately, since no one seems to know where Rachel is or if she plans on returning at all. And as if balancing parenting with work wasn’t hard enough, there’s always more stuff coming his way. For example, he might get promoted at the hospital, and his old friends, Libby and Seth, are back in his life. And there’s his dating life too! But we’re pretty sure the one thing that’s going to occupy his brain the most is trying to figure out what happened to Rachel and their marriage. Excuse us while we hibernate for a week so we can just wake up and watch this on November 17.

Aaaand we’ve reached the end of another Binge-Worthy Buzz. We hope you’ve enjoyed your stay and come back for more next week! If you liked our suggestions, please tell us so! You can find us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
