New Music On Repeat: Fall Out Boy, TXT, And More!

As January comes to a close, we have just enough time for a new music wrap-up on the calendar and the team here at The Honey POP has the songs that you need to know about that released this week. It’s only the first month of the year, and we can’t let our playlists get stale this soon, so here are four hot new tracks to check out!

‘Heartbreak Feels So Good’ – Fall Out Boy

Attention emos! After five long years, Fall Out Boy is returning with their 8th album So Much (For) Stardust. It comes with a new single, Heartbreak Feels So Good,’ which was a surprise following the official release of ‘Love From The Other Side.’ The new music is a warm hug to elder emos, a homecoming, as the band returned to the sound that Fall Out Boy is synonymous with but gave a modern spin. As Patrick Stump sings “we could cry a little or cry a lot, don’t stop dancing, don’t dare stop,” we will be dancing and crying to this song all weekend, and even more so when the entire album releases this March.

MOA are you ready for summer to come early? Groundhog Day and spring aren’t needed this year. TXT have already brought June to us early with their new upbeat summery song. ‘Sugar Rush Ride’ has a familiarity and funky nature that makes us want to dance. We will have the repeating “sugar rush” in our heads all day. This time having an earworm isn’t a bad thing as it only adds the anticipation for TXT’s tour this May. There’s a reason that TXT is regaled as the 4th generation’s it boys and The Name Chapter: Temptation is a great reason why.

‘Getting Older’ – Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert has shown us time and time again what it means to bring glam rock into the modern era and his cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘Getting Older’ is no exception. The original song is a sentimental coming-of-age piece depicting the struggles of growing up. Adam makes his own by including a classic rock influence, reminiscent of the iconic rock band Queen, who he has previously toured with. The song doesn’t lose its bittersweet nature with Adam’s rendition, in which he added his own theatricality. He stayed true to the original song all while making it his own. Using it as a vessel to showcase his incredible vocal talents, we are beyond excited to see what else High Drama has in store.

‘No Limits’ – Jimmie Allen, Austin Mahone and Kid Rock

What do Jimmie Allen, Austin Mahone and Kid Rock have in common? When put on a track together, they can do something incredible. ‘No Limits’ is a song that is upbeat but in the relaxed, lowkey way that it seems only country music can manage. The song could be played at a kickback with friends, something you could party to but nothing too crazy. The song is about living a life without limits, something that we all need to remember from time to time. ‘No Limits’ is definitely a song that even someone who isn’t a country fan could find themself enjoying.
