Here at The Honey POP, discovering new artists and showcasing them always gets us so excited! Today we feel incredibly honored and thrilled to share Bekah Bossard with you, as well as their debut single ‘What You Wanted’.
Born in California and raised in Exeter, England, indie artist Bekah Bossard is a welcomed brand-new name everybody needs to know about! We are already in love with their deeply emotive songwriting style and silky vocals. This song, which is a gorgeous blend of rock and folk, is the first track from their upcoming EP, What You Wanted. We’re very excited to be able to hear more from them in the future!
I wrote this song about coming out as queer and the rejection I faced in response and coming to terms with the fact that I can’t change their minds.

Their dreamy debut single is a song born from experience, and it’s a deeply personal one. They wrote it after coming out as queer and facing rejection from those close to them. The lyrics take us on a journey through the emotions Bekah felt during such a big moment in their life. The fears and worries of losing those close to you during a personal journey of self-discovery can truly have a heavy effect on a person. Lyrically, they establish this beautifully within this powerful song. Speaking about the song upon release, they say, “Through writing this one, I was processing the grief of losing relationships, letting go of the fear of being myself, and not feeling enough.”
I hope anyone who feels alone will know that they are fully loved and seen. There are so many people who will be lucky to get to know you!
