If there’s one thing we can guarantee in this life, it’s that listening to Lizzo makes our self-esteem skyrocket. She’s an absolute hero when it comes to self-confidence, and we think everyone should be a bit more like Lizzo! She gives her fans so many treats, and that includes her new single. Lizzo has collaborated with the iconic SZA on a new version of ‘Special,’ and we’re gonna be celebrating it all day long.
In fact, it’s not just this new track that needs celebrating! Lizzo just performed iconic medleys at both the Brits and the GRAMMYs, where she picked up her fourth (yes, fourth!) GRAMMY. ‘About Damn Time’ picked up the award for Record Of The Year, and we’re trying really hard to not make a joke about how it was ‘About Damn Time’ that she won another one.
Now, because here at THP we love Lizzo, SZA, and self-love, we thought it was only right to celebrate! So, in honor of their iconic collaboration, here are just a few of the Lizzo tracks that skyrocket our self-esteem.
‘Soulmate’
What’s the ultimate way to show that you love yourself? By being your own soulmate, duh. That’s exactly what Lizzo does in this track. “Cause I’m my own soulmate, I know how to love me” is the energy we wanna carry in 2023.
‘The Sign’
The opening track from Special will give you all the Lizzo-love you could ever need. The opening line sets the tone for the song so perfectly and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Try walking down the street listening to this in your headphones and tell us it doesn’t put a swing in your step!
‘Water Me’
Could there be a lyric more inspiring than “I am my inspiration?” ‘Water Me’ is a song about liberation after feeling neglected in a relationship. It’s the ultimate self-care track – it will literally remind you to drink more water and do your skincare routine. What’s not to love?
‘Special (Featuring SZA)’
Duh. How else did you think we were gonna end this list? ‘Special’ is a song that is, well, very special to us, and we love that it’s getting its moment in the spotlight! SZA has also revealed that it’s her favorite track on Special, so there honestly couldn’t be any more to love.
