Binge-Worthy Buzz: Honey Isn’t As Sweet As This List!

binge worthy buzz

Welcome back, honeybees, to a new edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, our weekly series where we tell you about the latest buzzing news from the realm of Movies and TV. Shall we get started?

Creed III

The title says Creed III, but we’re actually going to recommend you watch all the Creed movies. If you were a movie lover growing up, there’s a big chance you’ve watched Sylvester Stallone as the title character in the Rocky movies. Well, he comes back in the Creed series, this time as a mentor, not the main character.

The first Creed movie came out in 2015 and brings Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa’s old rival. But instead of competing against Rocky, Adonis, or Donnie, he seeks his help, which he’s unwilling to give at first. But he eventually agrees, and so a new future champion begins his training. The latest addition to the Creed franchise, Creed III, comes to theaters on March 3 and adds a new face to the cast, Jonathan Majors, as an old friend of Donnie’s.

American Born Chinese

This spring, Disney+ will bring us a new action-packed comedy series named American Born Chinese. Let us introduce you to the awesome story of this show. Our main character is Jun Wang, the “American Born Chinese” from the title. At first, he seems like just another average teen going through high school, but he wouldn’t be a Disney main character if that were the case, would he?

And the moment we see why he is, in fact, a Disney main character is the first day of the school year. At school, he meets a new foreign student, and let’s just say some world collided after that first meeting. From that moment forward, Jin is thrown into a battle between Chinese gods. That looks fun, doesn’t it?

Fast X

If there is one franchise in this world that has been thriving for many, many years, it’s the Fast & Furious movies. Proof of that is the fact that the tenth installment of the franchise is about to hit theaters on May 19. But while we wait for that, we can all sit back and enjoy a watch-through of all the prior nine films.

The premise of the movie is pretty simple: the main characters are a group of friends who participate in street races and become a family of their own. For over 20 years, this little family has been through many ups and downs, and we can’t wait to see what their tenth adventure looks like. For now, check out the new spot for the movie that came out during the Super Bowl this weekend.

Ted Lasso

Next month, our dear coach Ted Lasso will be coming back to Apple TV for a third season! In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, let us give you the basic rundown of what the show is all about. Ted Lasso is an American Football coach who’s recruited to coach a Premier League team in England. And if you thought, “wait, but that’s a soccer league,” you’d be right, but we promise there’s a reason for this.

See, the owner of the team, Rebecca Welton, hired Ted hoping he’d fail. She does that as a way to get revenge on her ex, who used to own the team. But despite his lack of experience in coaching soccer, Ted Lasso more than makes up for it with his enthusiasm and optimism. And if this little summary piqued your interest, take the next few weeks to watch seasons 1 and 2 before the third one comes out on March 15.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga

Let’s set the scene: New York City in the 1990s, the city is dealing with a crack cocaine epidemic. This show focuses on the formation of the Wu-Tang Clan, a pretty big hip-hop group. Its founder, Bobby Diggs, aka The RZA, is trying to escape what seems to be everyone’s fate at the time. In order to do that, he turns to rap. On the other hand, his brother Divine decides drug trading is the path to follow.

During the show, we meet a group of young men who would become the Wu-Tang Clan before the group became a thing. All of them are living in between the world of music and the world of crime while also having their own personal lives to deal with. But in every episode, we see them prove how they’re capable of anything. Wu-Tang: An American Saga is available on Hulu, and its latest season just dropped.

Imagine you grow up poor and with a criminal father. Then you grow up and become an English teacher, and apparently, everything about your past is left behind. Well, that’s somewhat what happened to Cha Moo-sik in Big Bet. Well, he did become an English teacher, but that’s not all. He also builds a gambling empire on the side.

Everything seems fine until the day a tax investigation throws a wrench into his lifestyle and forces him to run off to the Philippines. And this is where the story of Big Bet really gets going. Season 1 of the show is available on Hulu, and season 2 has the first three episodes available, and new ones will be coming every week.
