The Liar And His Lover

OMG, how we love this drama! It’s a bit of a cliché theme, but it’s really a beautiful one, and this 2017 drama shows how you can’t avoid destiny. It follows a famous band, CrudePlay, who have a secret member, as well as a girl named Yoon So-Rim (played by our beloved JOY) who dreams of becoming a great singer with her two best friends. As coincidences pop up and connect their stories, we get to explore everything from life as an idol to first love, with a lot of cool music along the way!

This soundtrack meshes with the story so smoothly, giving us fantastic songs from CrudePlay as well as So-Rim! ‘괜찮아, 난 (I’m OK)’ is our favorite track so far – don’t hesitate to stan CrudePlay if you love it as much as we do.

A Korean Odyssey

Also known as Hwayugi, this K-Drama is a must-see that definitely deserves all the hype it’s gotten. It centers around a girl who has the gift of seeing souls around her, as well as a deity who lost his powers as a punishment. They cross paths and try to defeat evil spirits together while facing their own problems, all while falling for each other as part of a tragic love story. Between the strong female lead, the magic, and the unique themes, there are a lot of things that make this drama memorable!

On top of all that, A Korean Odyssey has an amazing soundtrack, with a main track by our besties from NU’EST W! The songs complement the characters’ personalities so well, and they have just the right amount of drama. We’ve fallen in love with the show and the soundtrack!

Love Alarm

Some parts of Love Alarm can get pretty intense, but we can’t deny that this drama has one of the most amazing soundtracks and some of the best styling choices! The story starts when a developer creates an app that tells someone when a person nearby has feelings for them – in some cases, it’s the spark that starts a great love, but in a lot of cases, it leads to breakups and disappointments. Our lead girl, Kim Jo-jo, has a boyfriend who she fell out of love with a long time ago, and she’s starting to fall for another boy who will make her sound her love alarm. Everything seems to be going well, but Jo-jo is hiding part of her past and making decisions that will flip her love story upside down.

With two seasons, high-running emotions, and a lot of controversial decisions, the Love Alarm fandom is always passionately discussing the show and the fantastic soundtrack! The soundtrack makes the cut bleed every time it gets the chance, fluctuating between warm and cold emotions that match the feelings of the show so well.

Boys Over Flowers

This is one of the classics of all classics, and it’s been so many fans’ first K-drama. Boys Over Flowers follows Geum Jan-di, who gets a full scholarship to Shinhwa High School and meets a group known as F4: a clique including four of the most economically important, powerful boys in the country. These boys are pretty much free to do whatever they want because of their power, even taking bullying to extreme levels. To defend a new friend from being a target of their bullying, Jan-di challenges the leader of F4 and their paths cross. What will happen between them, within F4, and in the rest of the school as a result?

There are four different versions of Boys Over Flowers, and we recommend all of them, but the Korean version has the lead when it comes to its soundtrack. It’s so 2000s, but it’s so exciting singing these songs along with Kim Hyun Joong. It makes us feel like we’re the main characters of a beautiful story!

Nevertheless

The iconic quote, “Do you want to see butterflies with me?” was all over our socials, and for good reason! On Nevertheless, we meet the creative Yoo Na-bi, who just had her heart broken by her artist boyfriend. The same night she leaves him, a handsome man, Park Jae-eon, offers to spend the night with her, but she turns him down and just wants to go home. What she doesn’t realize at the time is that Jae-eon is the most popular student in her art school, and of course, destiny puts him back in her way. Jae-eon refuses to fall in love, while Na-bi is a classic romantic who’s just hurting at the moment, so it’s exciting to see their connection develop thanks to a plot twist and some “butterflies.”

And if all of that wasn’t enough to make Nevertheless one of the best dramas we have seen, it also comes with an amazing soundtrack that will make you dance, cry, and lots more. It’s so colorful and complements the story so well!
