Fresh off of a debut run that got us familiar with DWLLRS, their journey has into a name we recognize, and have been on a fine journey with friends (think the top of our vibing playlist !) We at THP were beyond stoked to catch DWLLRS at Webster Hall in NYC, full of hits, classic and new, which reinvigorated a packed crowd hype for headliner Claire Rosinkranz. After all, there’s nothing like an indie pop fix that keeps us going.
Standout moments of the night include the live rendition of ‘Ice Coffee’ and ‘Dividends’ with a pairing of a baseline and fierce synths DWLLRS engage their audience throughout the range of emotional themes across their sound. Themes of love, friendship, and joy intertwined with a dream pop sound set DWLLRS – better known as the project of duo Bren and Joey apart from traditional indie. We love them already, Honey Poppers, and we’re highly recommending you get on this train!
Claire Rosinkranz never fails to amaze us
Claire Rosinkranz is far from your traditional indie or pop princess. Following the release of smash EP Beverly Hills BoYfRiEnd in 2020 and 6 of a Billion in 2021, the singer-songwriter is just the epitome of cool. Getting traction after the release of ‘Backyard Boy,’ which went viral on TikTok in 2020, we have been obsessed. And trust us, with an effortless balance striking themes of love, relationships, and life with a California backdrop, Claire is an artist you’ll fall for (we already have!)
One of the smash singles live ‘Sad in Hawaii’ radiated the themes of heartbreak – which, paired with ‘Heartbreak Boy’ made for a pretty sweet full circle moment of celebrating even if things don’t work out. And trust us, Honey Poppers, if you’re feeling a bit of heartbreak blues this season – this is the artist you need to listen to.
But for starters, let’s get into what y’all need to know down. If you’re all for branching out beyond standard pop with artists like FLETCHER, both Claire Rosinkranz and DWLLRS nail capturing emotions of love, life, and reflection with an effortless, well-rounded sound – all factors that keep them at the top of our playlists.
And let us tell you, Honey Poppers, these are songs we need to hit play and just dance it out. (We’re there right along with you!)
