We Are Forever The In Crowd

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a decade since We Are The In Crowd released their last album, Weird Kids. So let’s take a walk down memory lane to reminisce over their music, as we did for Paramore. Or if you’ve never listened to them before, prepare to fall in love. It’s hard to narrow it down, but in no particular order, here are 5 of our favorite WATIC songs!

‘The Best Thing (That Never Happened)’

This is the ultimate breakup song. It’s about knowing your worth and never settling for someone who’s not worthy of you.

I won’t settle, settle, settle / You are never gonna hold me down.”

It can be tough to come to grips with it, but when you realize you’re ‘The Best Thing (That Never Happened)’ to them, it’s extremely liberating.

‘Kiss Me Again’

We’re absolutely in love with the original version. Lead singer, Tay Jardine’s and guitarist and backup vocalist, Jordan Ecke’s voices are absolutely perfect together. It’s a fun, upbeat song about beginning to fall in love. But we are absolutely in love with this song.

‘Better Luck Next Time’

Okay, yes. This is another post-breakup song, but it’s worth mentioning because it’s an absolute banger.  And the lyrics? Incredible.

Miss strong and outspoken, so easily broken, now I kick myself, I should’ve known better

It definitely hurts for those of us who can relate to the song. But we all need post-breakup songs that can channel our emotions.

‘Windows In Heaven’

WATIC is known for having fun, lighthearted songs. This isn’t one of them, but it’s, hands down, one of their best. It’s an extremely emotional song about losing a loved one. It makes us cry, for sure, but it has an important message. It takes a lot of strength to be vulnerable like that and to be able to record it.

‘For The Win’

And finally, the song that got them on everyone’s radar: ‘For The Win’ And honestly? It really is that song. It’s a fun song to sing along to. Also, it fits the pop-punk (adjacent, in this case) theme of wanting to get out of your town. Very relatable at the time.

If We Are The In Crowd ever makes a comeback, we’ll be ready. If not, we love and thank them for all the music they released over the years.
