We Have ‘So Much’ Excitement For Fall Out Boy’s New Album, So Much (For) Stardust

The wait is over. Fall Out Boy’s new album, So Much (For) Stardust, is finally here! Since we’ve already talked about how much we love ‘Love From The Other Side‘ and ‘Heartbreak Feels So Good,’ we’re going to get right into some of our favorite new songs from the album because we have a lot of thoughts /pos.

‘Hold Me Like A Grudge’

‘Dance, Dance’ isn’t the only song with an iconic bass line. The song title and lyrics are just Taurus energy. Meanwhile, the music video starts off where the music video for ‘This Ain’t A Scene’ left off. Like always, we love FOB’s elaborate and well-thought-out music videos. You can check it out below.

‘Fake Out’

It starts off as a song with a soft, lighthearted vibe. But in typical FOB fashion, we’re hit with heavy lyrics. But we wouldn’t have it any other way and metaphorical lyrics at the end with play-on-words.

Our favorite lyrics:

“We all started out as shiny dimes,
But we all got flipped too many times.
We did it for futures that never came,
and for pasts that we’re never gonna change”

‘Heaven, Iowa’

We all know that Patrick Stump has an incredible, powerful voice. But ‘Heaven, Iowa’ has the same energy as ‘Church’ in terms of vocals. We love the lyrics, but the vocals alone literally brought us to tears. We’re hoping that this will make the setlist on their upcoming tours. Pass the tissues, please.

Our favorite lyrics:

“I closed my eyes in your darkness and found your glow”

‘Flu Game’

Lyrically, this may be one of our favorite from the album. Don’t get us wrong, it still sounds amazing. But the lyrics are the highlight of this song, for us.

“I’ve got all this love I’ve got to keep to myself,
All this effort to make it look effortless,
Confront all the pain like a gift under the tree,
Oh, please, I can’t be who you need me to be.”

‘Baby Annihilation’

This song starts out with Pete Wentz’s poetry. It’s definitely been missed because we loved it in their previous songs, ‘Get Busy Living…’ and ‘20 Dollar Nose Bleed.’

Our favorite lyrics:

“The first time I took the mask off, just had another one underneath,
I’m just melted wax on a birthday cake,
Another year fades away.”

‘What A Time To Be Alive’

This is a high-energy song, but it discusses the negative, current state of the world, which can also affect mental health. They have very emo lyrics, but they do it in such a fun, catchy way. It makes things just a little brighter.

Our favorite lyrics:

See Also

“Cause everything is here, except my serotonin / They should say I should try meditation,
but I don’t want to be alone with my own thoughts”

‘So Much (For) Stardust’

‘So Much (For) Stardust’ circles back to the intro track, ‘Love From The Other Side,’ with repeating lyrics. We love when artists do it because it ties the album together. Since it’s also the name of the album, it reminds us how they did that with Save Rock and Roll

Our favorite lyrics:

“I used to be a real go-getter
I used to think it’d all get better.”

Whew. We know that that was a long one, but it needed to be said. Fall Out Boy’s So Much (For) Stardust did not disappoint. If you want something lighthearted after crying over this album, watch the video of them performing ‘Sugar We’re Going Down’ on Jimmy Fallon below. You can say it’s eggs-cellent. 🥁
