A Night With Oliver Hazard: The Concert You Need To See

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you your new favorite indie-folk band, Oliver Hazard. Last week we got to see this humble yet inviting three-set band that is currently on the road with Houndmouth. Showing up to a sold-out show in Providence, Oliver Hazard held the crowd together and won hearts over.

Step In Our Shoes For A Moment

The night started off with an unexpected turn as the start time was pushed back due to a venue complication. However, that didn’t stop the show from happening. Bringing a home-y aesthetic, Oliver Hazard’s lead, Michael Belazis, joked about their set list being illegible as they wrote it down on a paper plate with sharpie, “We had a set list planned.. but, uh… we can’t read it now.”

The short set held together through their anticipation of a good night. The audience seemed to connect right away with how the airy sounds of Oliver Hazards’ music vibrated throughout the venue. Congratulating them on their newest EP, our favorite part of the show was when they played ‘Saratoga.’ We got to dance along as the audience cheered for the guitar solo performed by Devin East.

Houndmouth!

We also got to view Houndmouth’s set right after Oliver Hazard. Singing songs like ‘Sedona,’ ‘Las Vegas,’ and ‘McKenzie’ we got to see the crowd’s energy quickly switch gears from adoring and content to dancing and shouting lyrics right back. We were generally surprised to hear Matt Myers, their lead vocalist, mention how they were ecstatic the crowd sold out the past few nights.

At the end of the night, the Oliver Hazard crew got to hang out on stage for one more round as they sang with Houndmouth completing the night off. What a way to end the show and what a show to attend.

If You Go, Tell Them The Honey POP Sent You

If you are into Iron and Wine, The Lumineers, or even Ben Howard, we can’t recommend this band enough. The right people to jam by a fireside (or in our case, the stage) and the right people to add to your playlist *wink wink*. Take it from us, you definitely need to add Oliver Hazard to your bucket list of concerts this summer.
