Indiana Jones Is Preparing For His Last Adventure, Let’s Get Our Gear To Join Him

Umph. You landed in a pit in Egypt full of King Cobra snakes. You look and see your archaeologist dig partner stare in fear that briefly stuns him when he sees the snakes. All you can hear in your head from a previous expedition when noticing that is “I hate snakes, Jock! I hate them.” Your partner gets up and uses the fire in the pit to light a torch. As he does, fortunately, it scares the snakes away. Whew. A huge relief rolls off your shoulders. The man extends his tan rough hand out to help you up. You quickly oblige. It’s time to dust the sand that has collected on your khakis and your loose white shirt. He now hands you a torch of your own. You never thought you’d get trapped in an Egyptian tomb looking for the lost Ark. Looking over to your right you call over to the man. “Hey Indy, what are we going to do now?” In typical Indiana Jones fashion, he says, “I’m working on it, I’m working on it.”

The clever (handsome) man figures a way out through a wall by knocking over a statue. Just another day with the famed professor, archeologist, historian, and action-orientated adventurer. Who wouldn’t want to be a partner alongside Indiana and his many intriguing adventures? We one hundred percent have daydreamed about tagging along with Indiana Jones. There’s always something captivating about the action-adventure thriller movies that have kept audiences engaged for decades!

“That’s Why They Call It The Jungle, Sweetheart.”

The Indiana Jones franchise has continuously had movies with a talented cast. Each movie has had exhilarating stories based in different locations using both known and not-as-well-known mythological and theological lore. The timeless stories and early 80s editing remain unmatched! Not to mention how Harrison Ford keeps aging like fine wine. No matter how many times you have watched an Indiana Jones movie, you can never, and will never, get bored.

Indiana Jones is a character name that is deeply rooted in pop culture. To emphasize the impact Indiana Jones has had, you don’t have to look too far. So many movies after the making of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark reference the hat scene. You surely know what we are talking about! It’s a scene that is frequently reoccurring. Indiana barely makes it out of a death trap and loses his hat. However, Indiana Jones doesn’t go anywhere without that brown iconic hat and goes back to get it. Now that we refreshed you on that Indiana moment, you’ve certainly seen this in other movies and even TV shows.

It’s the scene where a door is closing and something is left behind. Then, within the last few seconds, the character reaches out quickly to grab whatever was left behind. It’s an Indiana Jones reference that even Captain America, Steve Rogers, would understand (only of course after watching them ’cause, you know, the ice thing). Actually, Peter Quill is an 80s baby, so Star-Lord would absolutely know Indiana Jones movies and make references. There are, of course, many other references in media that tie back to the first Indiana Jones movie. For example, the swapping of items of similar weight to not set off a trap, the dart wall, and the stuck skeletons.

“I Don’t Know. I’m Making This Up As I Go.”

When you have a set of iconic movies that are directed by George Lucas, they will stand the test of time. No, we’re not talking about Star Wars. However, we can’t ignore that George Lucas directed both Star Wars and Indiana Jones giving the world two amazing and beloved sci-fi franchises. Isn’t that amazing? What’s even more amazing that must be remembered is Harrison Ford is a key player in both franchises. We get to enjoy Harrison Ford as Han Solo and the Indiana Jones. Although both franchises share an actor, we get more Harrison Ford screen time in Indiana Jones. He is the main man. We aren’t complaining about that, it’s a blessing.

Harrison Ford brings a lot of spunk, charisma, sarcasm, curiosity, and imperfection to Indiana Jones, which gives life to the character. Indiana is a man who is unapologetically himself. His main aspiration in life is looking to protect and preserve priceless ancient artifacts and keep them out of evil hands to be placed in museums to be admired and studied. He isn’t a perfect man, archaeologist, professor, or dad, but he tends to mean well when he is on his adventures. Harrison Ford is great at letting us see all angles of Indiana Jones: the man who wants to learn, the man who is a heartthrob, the man who is scared of snakes, the man who fights and loses (sometimes), the man who is a nerdy anthropologist, and the man who is an unintentional hero.

All this chatter about Indiana Jones makes us want to watch the movies again. A long and enjoyable movie night rewatch would be perfect! It’s the best way to prepare for the release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on June 30, 2023.

“X Never, Ever Marks The Spot.”

Even though Indy says X doesn’t mark the spot, this time, X does mark the spot for the treasure. Especially when the map is leading where to watch the Indiana Jones movies, the X is right on the mark! We don’t need to use Indiana’s whip to swing from one place to another to get to those movies. All we need to do starting May 31 is grab a bowl of popcorn, our favorite soda, some Reese’s Pieces (or your favorite candy), and any other movie-watching treats, then go sit down on our couches to turn on Disney+.

For the first time ever, all of the Indiana Jones franchise will be streaming on Disney+. It’s about time since the Walt Disney World Parks have had various Indiana Jones theme rides and stunt shows for years. It makes perfect sense for Lucasfilm and Disney to partner up to make this franchise available to its equally dauntless fans!

We’re so excited to be able to join Indiana Jones once again on fun feats. The journey with Indy begins with hitting play on Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Then moving on from Indy finding the lost Ark of the Covenant, we see Indy head to India. There, his mission is to return stolen precious rocks to a village and take down a cult in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. In the second installment of Indiana Jones, you’ll get to see a young Ke Huy Quan (yes, the Everything Everywhere All At Once Oscar winner!) alongside Indy as Short Round.

“If You Want To Be A Good Archeologist, You Gotta Get Out Of The Library!”

Next up, we meet Indy on a quest for the Holy Grail where he is rivaled against the villains of his first movie. In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, we are introduced to Indy’s dad and go to various places around the world – from the US to Italy, and to the desert. If you ever played Lego Indiana Jones, this movie is the most fun to play. At least in our opinion!

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was the last Indiana Jones movie for 19 years. Can you imagine waiting 19 years for a new movie to be released within your favorite franchise? For many of us at THP, we got to experience the Indiana Jones franchise much later. This means we watched these movies with our parents in the early 2000s. We didn’t have to wait too long for a new Indiana Jones movie.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released in 2008! We think this movie is the most interesting of them all. It picks up later in Indiana’s life when Mutt approaches him seeking help to find the Crystal Skulls. Indiana teams up with his original lover from the first movie, Marion, and discovers that Mutt is his son with Marion. They travel to Peru to get figure out the secrets of the Crystal Skulls before the power-hungry villains get to it. Oh yeah, by the way, there’s alien lore in this to give the story a bit of a twist.

We all get the chance to watch those movies and the TV series. Yes, there is a TV series about Indiana Jones! That is new information to us, too. The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones is, from what we know, an exploration of Indy’s childhood and youth meeting historical figures. This will give us super fans a great insight into how our beloved Indiana Jones becomes who he is.

Indiana Jones is a character that is so well loved and enjoyed. We’ll make sure to clear out any snakes so that way we can enjoy his company uninterrupted. Alongside the Indiana Jones movies and series going on Disney+, those in the US will be able to get special access to Indiana Jones merch on shopDisney from May 31st to June 8th. We wonder what type of merch they will be selling there. Do you think they’ll have a life-size cardboard cutout of Harrison Ford as Indy? Or at least a replica of his hat?

It’ll be time to stock up on your Indiana Jones gear to get out of the library and become a real archaeologist alongside the best one to ever exist. Memorable adventures await us on Disney+! Brush up on your quick wit and mythology to be prepared to meet Indiana Jones in one last adventure in June. We will see you there. Cue the Indiana Jones theme song.

“It’s Not The Years, Honey, It’s The Mileage.”

Alright, adventurers, we have to talk Indiana Jones with you! To start this fun chat together, comment below about what you love about Indiana Jones and which movie you can’t wait to rewatch first! Or you can find us on our socials, Facebook and Instagram, or send us a tweet @TheHoneyPop to let us know there. We can’t wait to to talk Indiana Jones and write “I love you” on our eyelids using eyeliner together. You know, like the girl in the first movie who clearly had a crush on Professor Jones. She is so us.
