These 4 Madison Beer Lyrics Get Our Heads ‘Spinnin’’

Madison Beer, the legend that you are! Madison manages to steal our hearts even more with every song she releases, and that’s partly thanks to how descriptive her lyrics are. They reel you right into her stories and make you feel like you’re venting together on a cozy girls’ night in. To celebrate her artistry and get you excited for the release of Silence Between Songs next month – be sure to pre-save that here, by the way – we’re rounding up some of our all-time fave Madison lyrics!

“I woke up, fell back to sleep, ’cause I’d rather live in my dreams…”

Honestly, we don’t know anyone who isn’t tempted to press the snooze button to go back to dreamland – we’re definitely culprits of this, and we love that Madison used this idea in a song. We’ve only had ‘Spinnin’’ in our lives for a short time, but it’s already made us feel so seen and understood in a world that’s more isolating and confusing than ever. It’s so beautiful and captures those feelings of loneliness and confusion so well!

This song is a reflection of a time when everything seemed to stand still. I felt like every day was a cycle and I was stuck in such an anxious place, yet I could finally explore the thoughts and emotions in my head. I dreamed of a video that was cinematic and visually striking that brought those emotions to life, and I’m so proud of what we created.

“We were like a California sunset, fated to die any minute…”

Okay, ‘Blue’ needs more recognition immediately, please and thank you. This is seriously one of Madison’s best songs from a lyrical and musical standpoint, using all sorts of stunning metaphors and color imagery to describe the intensity of a relationship and its downfall. This lyric has one of our fave metaphors we’ve ever heard in music, and we like how “fated” can also sound like “faded,” which ties into how the sunlight fades as it goes down.

“This chapter’s about how you said there was nobody else, then you got up and went to her house…”

We’re in love with the storybook theme on ‘Reckless!’ From the ethereal cover art, which places Madison in front of a big book, to the references in lyrics like this one, it really brings the song to life in a beautiful way. She’s telling her story, chapter by chapter, throughout her music, and we’re more than happy to follow along. We also love how this implies that the infidelity was just one “chapter” or issue of this situation, and not everyone will know the full story.

“What in the world did I do to deserve such a pain in my heart?”

This lyric from ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’ is pretty simple, but it’s also simply heartbreaking on the deepest level. Sometimes when you’re hurting, you can’t or don’t want to turn it into something more poetic or metaphorical. You just need to get that feeling out and question the universe a bit as you pick up your broken pieces. We wanna give Mads the biggest hug every time we hear this line!
