It’s not a secret that 2023 is truly the year of Reneé Rapp. Reneé has been taking over the world during the last few years and she’s showing zero signs of stopping any time soon. Her debut album, Snow Angel, has also just entered the universe and our hearts. But right before we were fully swept away into the record, we had the opportunity to talk to Reneé about Snow Angel, delusion, her big three astrology, and so much more. And naturally, we’re here to give you all the inside details we can! Let’s buzz right in…
Reneé Rapp has worked insanely hard to claim her spot in the music industry. Whether we’re talking about her 2018 Jimmy Awards win, her role as Regina George in Mean Girls the Musical on Broadway, or her almost girl group moment – she’s worked tirelessly to have the music career she’s always dreamt of. This isn’t to say that acting isn’t something she loves and enjoys, but as Reneé put it, “Music was always mommy.” There wasn’t a reality in which she didn’t end up releasing hit after hit like she’s currently doing.
It wasn’t the easiest journey either, according to Rapp. It took her a while to learn how to show herself some grace with her music. Since music is also Rapp’s acting form of therapy, it’s beyond personal to her. She spoke about having tried pretty much any and every form of therapy out there. And she said nothing has helped like creating music has for her.

Part of finding her place as an artist was also leaning into other powerful women around her. Reneé spoke about the various women she’s lucky enough to be surrounded by. She said she feels “spoiled” by the ways she’s been able to grow and intertwine her work with the gifts and knowledge they all possess. You could even argue that the people around her are part of the reason why Reneé is our “delulu” queen. We’ve all probably seen the interview clip of Reneé citing delusion as the way she continues to crush barriers.
Delusion is a weird inate belief in myself and a hunger to do something I love so much. I believe that delusion is my bff. Again, it doesnt have to be a bad thing! I think its a great thing. As girls, or non-men, we’re taught that if you come across confident it’s not super cool. So, lets mask it as delusion so we can giggle with you and not be intimidated by your presence. When I say delusion its to avoid people calling me a b**ch for believing in myself.

When talking about Snow Angel, we got to ask Reneé what tracks she associates the most with her Big 3 Astrology placements! We told her we feel like ‘TALK TOO MUCH’ truly embodies being a Gemini rising to their core. Reneé said she thinks that her Pisces Moon would be ‘I Wish.’ “‘I Wish’ is a song I wrote about my parents and my first understanding of mortality when I was like 10 or something.” And boy is she right that this track has Pisces Moon all over it. Nothing like a cup of existential dread with your daily routine! And her Capricorn sun you might ask? Well, that is best seen in the track ‘Poison, Poison’ according to Reneé. And honestly? We couldn’t agree more! If a Capricorn turns its back on you, chances are you did something messed up to warrant that.

There isn’t a single thing we can’t imagine Reneé doing this year. The demand for her talent is simply growing by the second, and we love to see it. A demand so intense that she added a second show on the same day at The Brook in Southampton! Now you have another chance to see her in case you can’t make it out to the Snow Hard Feelings Tour!
