‘Teeth’ by 5 Seconds of Summer

5 Seconds of Summer doesn’t always make songs that would fit in with the Halloween spirit. But, when they do it’s either ‘Daylight’ or ‘Teeth.’ We picked ‘Teeth’ for its punchy rhythm and lyrics that make you realize how eerie love can be. We can’t lie, with lyrics like “talk so pretty, but your heart got teeth,” “late night devil put your hands on me,” and “blood on my shirt, heart in my hand still beating” making this 5SOS song ideal for an eerie fall vibe.

These Aussies know how to create a perfect unintentional Halloween bop.

‘Final Girl’ By Eva Rose

The famous archetype found in all Horror/Thriller films, shows, and books: is the final girl. The final girl is the one who somehow survives the antagonist and has to be the one to fight off them directly. Without a doubt, any truly good Horror/Thriller story has the final girl bravely covered in some scars that come out remarkably on the other side. ‘Final Girl’ by Eva Rose is a heartbreak song with a twist. She is the final girl who has to confront the person who made other girls like her run away and disappear. Consequently, in good final girl fashion, she’s ending the cycle.

It’s an ideal alt-pop/indie-pop song you need on rotation on your Halloween playlist. It’ll get your soul prepped for Halloween so well.

‘Ghostbusters’ By Ray Parker Jr.

“Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!” Listen, we are a sucker for late 80’s Halloween music (and movies), and in reality, we can’t exclude this hit! ‘Ghostbusters’ came out in 1984 AND along with the original iconic Ghostbusters, set up an ongoing legacy of cultural impact.

Everyone knows who the Ghostbusters are and even the famous theme song! For that reason, any respectable list of songs that will get you into the Halloween spirit will have this track on it. How could we not include it? It’s perfect for your ghost-hunting adventures for you and your friends.

‘Arms Tonite’ By Mother Mother

We stumbled across this song late last year and have had it in storage to pull out for an occasion such as this! ‘Arms Tonite’ is a curious song about the extremes we find comfort in being close to someone we fancy. To clarify, ‘Arms Tonite’ is about dying in the arms of your lover and wanting to crawl back from the afterlife to be with them again. Meanwhile also have the mindset of “Oh wow I got to die in their arms, cool!”

Reader, we will be candid, this was found in a POV: You’re Dating Sam Winchester playlist to give some extra context. If you’re a Supernatural fan, you understand how this song is perfect for Halloween and keeping the spooks high.
