Nick Jonas has had quite the year! From the Jonas Brothers comeback to the launch of his own tequila, this Jo Bro has kept himself busy. However, it seems it isn’t quite enough! He’s now announced he is going to be an executive producer on a new Netflix show.
He is not alone as he has the help of producer Shawn Levy, famously known for producing ‘Stranger Things’.
They have already found the stars for the title roles, and they are names you may have heard before. They are Austin Abrams from HBO’s “Euphoria” and Midori Francis, star of “Good Boys”. The first season is already set to debut in 2020 although no specific date has been announced. It’s been said that it will run for 8 episodes, each being half an hour long.
What is it about?
The new show is based on a book series called ‘Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares’ written by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. The story of Dash and Lily is based around a book, or diary if you will. This diary is the property of the couple and they pass it between each other for the duration of their holiday in New York City. Though it’s more of a notebook, it’s where Lily writes down different dares and leaves it on a bookshelf to challenge those who are likely to come across it.
If the show is a success, it could have a second season based around the second book in the series, ‘The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily’. The second book carries on the story of the first novel, so it would be fun to see that adaptation too!
The only question is, how will Nick & Co adapt it? Will they stay true to the novel, or will they add their own twist to it and make it even more interesting? I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.
Obviously, until then you’ll find us with our nose in the book to get a head start! We suggest you do too, maybe you’ll find yourself whisked away on their adventure!
