The world can now rejoice as Selena Gomez has finally made a comeback. Following some teasers on Twitter, Sel dropped her hugely anticipated single, ‘Lose You To Love Me’. The piano-driven ballad is full of raw emotions as Selena closes a difficult chapter in her life while finding peace along the way.
The music video is simplistic and intimate where Gomez sits into the camera in a black and white setting, which is more powerful than any flashy music video with big storylines could ever deliver.
Writing a note on Youtube, Selena said: “This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”
‘Lose You To Love Me’ could be the first release of Selena’s yet-to-be-titled third studio album, which would be her first full-length project since her sophomore album, ‘Revival’, which dropped in 2015.
After some much-needed time away from the spotlight, Selena seems to be in a much better place looking healthy and happy. Earlier this year, the ‘Back To You’ hitmaker said she was “actually done” with her new album when she was a guest on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’.
“I have to do, like, a few finishing things with it, but I’m just relieved,” she revealed to Jimmy. “It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that [it was like] how was I going to capture that and how was I actually going to feel good about what I was saying? So, I kept going and I’m relieved now.”
Welcome back, Selena! You’ve been sorely missed.
