The Amityville House

This home is located at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, NY. It was the site of a family murder in which 23-year-old Ronald DeFeo, Jr. shot and killed his parents and four younger siblings on November 14, 1974. It’s still rumored to be haunted to this day.

Eastern State Penitentiary

This prison was built in 1829. It is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was the first prison to institute solitary confinement. The prisoners were left alone during the majority of their time there. The prison ran from 1913 until it partially closed down in 1970. It was said it caused mental illness in its prisoners, fully closing down in 1971. Today it is used as a Halloween haunted house despite it being rumored to really be haunted.

Edinburgh Castle

This castle has 900 years of history within its walls. It dates back as early as the 12th century, which once hosted the likes of Duke Alexander Stewart of Albany (who escaped, stabbing his guards to death and then burning their bodies), Lady Janet Douglas of Glamis (accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake). In 2001 it became one of the more popular castles for paranormal investigations. Guests often experience sudden drops in temperature, tugging of their clothes and shadowy figures being spotted. If this castle’s paranormal activity isn’t enough to give you a fright, there is also Mary Kings Close, an underground city where black plague victims were quarantined and left to die.

Gettysburg Battlefield

The battle of Gettysburg lasted for 3 days and was one of the biggest losses in American history, with some 50,000 men losing their lives during this battle. This is said to be one of the most haunted places as the souls of the fallen will not accept their fate and haunt the fields. They are said to be searching for their rifles, comrades and many other things, They are unaware the battle has been over

The Myrtles Plantation

This estate is located in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Built in 1796 by General David Bradford, it is said to host several ghosts. One more popular tale is the ghost of a slave named Chloe. It’s said her ears were cut off for eavesdropping. She sought out revenge and poisoned a birthday cake killing two of the slave masters’ daughters. Their spirits are said to be haunting the plantation. The story goes Chloe was hung by other slaves and now haunts the plantation as well.

The Queen Mary

Located in Long Beach, California, The Queen Mary is one of the most haunted ships in America. It was purchased in 1967, and turned into a hotel where guests experience many haunted things. Ghosts reportedly still hanging around is a sailor, who died in the ship’s engine room and a “lady in white,” and children who drowned in the ship’s pool. There are a few rooms that are reported to be HIGHLY haunted and have the biggest paranormal rating ever.

The Tower Of London

It started in the 11th century as a political prison and an execution building, and has long been known as one of the most haunted buildings in the British Isles. Anne Boleyn, wife of King Henry VIII, was beheaded there in 1536. And, Lady Jane Grey was spotted by a guardsman on Feb. 12, 1957, on the 403 anniversary of her death. The first-ever ghost sighting was of Thomas Beckett in the 13th century.

The Whaley House

This home is located in San Diego’s Old Town. It’s said to harbor spirits from the 1960s, making it one of America’s most supernatural homes. The earliest ghost was named Jim Robinson. He was hanged on site in 1852. Visitors claim to see startling lifelike young girls in long dresses sitting in the dining room.

The White House

The White House is easily one of the most famous houses in America. It is said Abigail Adams (wife of President John Adams) does laundry in the East Room, while Dolly Madison’s spirit roams the Rose Garden. Honest Abe is reported to visit his old bedroom.

The Winchester House

Sarah Winchester claimed that a medium said to her that the souls of those who died from her families named guns haunted her as revenge as to why her loved ones died, The medium also told her she needed to build and never stop building Sarah ordered men to work for 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 38 years construction never stopped. The 160 room estate has some creepier features, such as the staircase that leads to nowhere, doors that open to brick walls, and even 10ft drops. It has also been said the house had no blueprints as to what was to be built just that they should never stop building. Visitors claimed the house can easily be confusing and have you lost.
