Harry Styles is a very busy man right now. He’s dropped his single, ‘Lights Up’, he’s about to host and perform on ‘Saturday Night Live’, he just performed with Kacey Musgraves plus we know his album is just around the corner. So, in a brief yet informative chat, here’s what we learned from Harry Styles’ Capital FM interview.
He’s not an early riser
When sporting the fitting attire for a breakfast show – his dressing gown – Roman Kemp asked Harry if this was a normal time for him to be awake, to which Hazza replied: “I’m not very early. I’m not very early indeed.” Honestly, that’s a whole mood.
‘Lights Up’ is about freedom and acceptance
It’s no wonder Harry’s LGBTQIA+ fans can relate to his latest single, as Harry says it’s about discovering yourself and then accepting it.
“for me, I think the song is like, you know, about freedom and I guess self-reflection, self-discovery, I guess. A couple things that I’d kind of thought about and I guess kind of wrestled with a little bit over the last couple of years and then, I think the song is kind of about me just accepting those things.”
We’ve always loved and accepted you, Harry! But we’re so glad you’re able to do that for yourself.
He turned down the role in ‘The Little Mermaid’ because of schedule conflicts
When asked about the whole ordeal with being offered the role of Eric in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’, Harry mentions that while he thinks it’s going to be amazing, there was a couple of things that made him turn it down, mostly because they shoot the movie for so long and he was hoping to tour next year. Evidently, it’s something he slipped up on and regretted saying as he tries to play it off as a “maybe” – come on Styles, we all know you’re itching to confirm HSLOT2!
We could be getting a Mick Jagger 2.0
Talking about his upcoming double duty of both hosting and performing on ‘Saturday Night Live’, Harry was asked as to whether or not we’d get another impression as iconic as the Mick Jagger one we got back a few years ago. “Uh, I don’t know I’ll have to see when I get there probably, I’ll probably have to do something, yeah. I would imagine so.”
Well, we’re so stoked to see who he’ll be impersonating next!
We still don’t know what ‘Watermelon Sugar’ is!
Asking about when he recently broke Twitter with his ‘Watermelon Sugar’ tweet and just what the heck does it mean, he left us hanging as he smirkingly replied: “you’ll have to wait and find out!”
UGH. We can’t stand this anticipation!
