Ranked: We’ve listed Blackpink’s EPs – Do You Agree?

BLACKPINK in your area! If you haven’t heard anything about Blackpink yet, you have clearly been living under a rock. These four girls – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa – are the members of one of the (if not the) biggest girl groups in the world. They debuted in 2016 with their first EP ‘Square One’ which consisted of the two hit-songs ‘Whistle’ & ‘Boombayah’. And because they are so awesome, and literally my favorite girl group ever, I have decided to talk about each and every EP that Blackpink has released so far. I will also be ranking them from my least favorite to my most favorite EP! (But let’s be real every song that they have put out is a bop) Let’s start with the ranking, Blinks!

‘Square One’ was Blackpink’s debut EP and was a huge success. ‘Whistle’ is a more hip-hop centered, laid-back song, while ‘Boombayah’ is a more energetic dance song. My personal favorite Blackpink song ever is definitely ‘Whistle’, because it is such a unique song and showcases each and every member’s ability in the best way possible. (Also, Jennie’s part in the bridge is so good??) But I still have to rank ‘Square One’ last, because there are only two songs on this EP.

While ‘Square Two’ also only consists of two songs, I still feel like it deserves to be ranked higher than ‘Square One’. While the first song ‘Playing With Fire’ is definitely a song that you can jam to (Lisa’s rap especially!), ‘Stay’ is an emotional ballad that showcases another side of Blankpink that we haven’t heard before. ‘Stay’ is the first ballad that Blackpink has put out AND also the first song, where Blackpink had a chance to officially take part in the writing process. Jennie has mentioned that she has helped with writing the song, whether or not the other members participated as well, is unknown.

‘Square Two’ is in third place for me, because while Blackpink got to show another side of them and participate in the making of a song, it also only has two songs. (YG Entertainment, we need the full album!!)

With this EP, we got a total of four songs at once! ‘Square Up’ features the songs ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ (which is almost at 1B YouTube views!!) and ‘Forever Young’, which are my two favorites of this EP. ‘Square Up’ is a second place for me because while ‘See You Later’ & ‘Really’ are bops, they aren’t as high on my favorites list as Blackpink’s other songs, especially the songs that are featured on ‘Kill This Love’.

‘Kill This Love’ is my favorite Blackpink EP at the moment. To me, all of the songs are unique and I never get tired of listening to them. They are so good, that I can’t even choose a real favorite although I do have a soft spot for ‘Hope Not’! Another part that got me really hooked in the song ‘Kill This Love’ is Jisoo’s and Rosé’s pre-chorus part! Check the song out below!
