So Hopeless Records is back with another installment of ‘Songs That Saved My Life,’ bringing us Vol. 2, which slaps just as hard as the last. And once again they’ve brought an amazing selection of artists to recreate some of their favorite songs that have helped them through tough times, to support some great causes in the process and help others. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s pretty damn cool.
Last year, Hopeless Records came out with the first volume of ‘Songs That Saved My Life.’ The purpose of this was to raise awareness for issues like mental health, suicide prevention, and self-harm. So here we are again, blessed with some more great music created for an even greater purpose.
With artists like Mayday Parade, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Doll Skin and Trash Boat, ‘Songs That Saved My Life Vol. 2’ is sure to satisfy most anybody with a taste for the alternative. However, if that’s not quite your style, With Confidence’s cover of ‘Drops of Jupiter’ or Silverstein’s version of ‘Disarm’ should at least touch on a bit of nostalgia. I know it sure did for me. Oh God, the memories.
Listen To Some Great Bangers, Support Some Great People
The ‘Songs That Saved My Life’ project is currently helping several wonderful organizations, all working toward making this world a better place and helping people who are going through tough times. With Crisis Text Line, Hope For The Day, The Trevor Project and To Write Love On Her Arms, there’s sure to be a place that can offer you the support you need, all of which are just a click away on those links.
If you feel like listening to some bangers while supporting some people who are doing great things, ‘Songs That Saved My Life Vol. 2’ is for you. Or, y’know. Maybe even volume one. *Whispers* I recommend Dance Gavin Dance’s cover of ‘Semi-Charmed Kiss.’ More like chef’s kiss if you ask me.
