Ally Brooke dropped ‘No Good,’ but it sounds SO good!

Former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke released her new song ‘No Good’ on November 25th; and although she says “No Good,” the song is really good. It’s a disco song with a sick bass line, so it’s got us all dancing. Writing credits go to Ally herself, along with JHart, Sermstyle, Madison Love, and Danny Majic. Those writers have done work with other major artists, such as Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, so it’s obvious they’d make a hit with Ally! We’d all better give them a pat on the back for the amazing song they blessed us with.

The song’s about knowing that you don’t need someone, but it feels like you can’t leave them. Representing a sort of toxic relationship that’s ‘no good’ for her, she tells herself that she ‘don’t need nobody,’ while her heart ‘only wants what it wants.’

Ally just finished 3rd place on Dancing With The Stars, Season 28. Dancing with her partner Sasha, we all thought she was going to win first place. That went to Bachelorette Hannah Brown and partner Alan Bersten, but we were absolutely shook that Ally didn’t win after seeing the judges continue to praise her dances night after night. I’m glad that even though we won’t be seeing her dancing on TV anymore, we’ll see her around making new music.

Ally’s Gaining Confidence

Something that stands out to me about ‘No Good’ is that it’s her first single since Fifth Harmony without a feature. Those other singles included ‘Lips Don’t Lie,’ ‘Low Key,’ and ‘Higher.’ I’ve definitely seen Ally’s confidence soar on her season of DWTS, and you know what? I think putting out a song without a feature shows that she’s putting that new-found confidence into her music.

To hear the song, you can click right here. Remember to dance, because it’s disco and she’s bringing it back to life in this song.

Personally, my favorite lyric of the song is in the second verse; “your venomous eyes could blink one more time and keep me attached.” The mid-lyric rhyme ‘eyes’ and ‘time’ interests me.

It was just announced that Ally will be joining the DWTS cast on their 2020 tour for the first six dates in Richmond, VA on Jan. 9; Atlantic City, NJ on Jan. 10; Uncasville, CT on Jan. 11 & Jan. 12; Rochester, NY on Jan. 14; and Albany, NY on Jan. 15. To get tickets, visit here. Other contestants that will join the tour on separate dates include Hannah Brown, Kate Flannery, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, Kel Mitchell, and Lauren Alaina. That’s a pretty star-studded cast, so I recommend you go get yourself or someone else some tickets as a gift this holiday season.
