5 Reasons Why … You Should Stan Lizzo

5 Reasons Why … You Should Stan Lizzo

I just took a DNA test and it turns out I’m 100% a stan of Lizzo, and you should be, too! In just the last year, she has blown up and is finally getting the recognition she deserves! A beautiful empowered black woman who isn’t afraid to take the stage and show people what she’s got. 2019 is nearly over, but Lizzo has barely even begun on this journey. With that being said here are 5 reasons we should all stan one of the greatest entertainers of the year.

1 . A Body and Mind Positive Queen

There’s no doubt that Lizzo is the CEO of self- love — for herself and the rest of us. If you didn’t know, she has been sent from the heavens above to personally make us all better versions of ourselves through her message. Her concerts often involve a break where she has each and every one of her audience members close their eyes and repeat a self-love mantra. If you haven’t seen or experienced this in person, I recommend it. It brings tears to your eyes, warmth to your heart, and love to yourself. Not to mention, her squad of back-up dancers are a group of beautiful plus-sized women who can definitely get groovy. Everyone deserves a chance to shine and Lizzo is here to give it to them.

2 . Her Lyrics Are Powerful and Fun

Her music is fun and the only thing we ever want to listen to while we get ready for a night out. What else would we play to to get ourselves hyped up? But if we really dive into the lyrics of her upbeat songs, you can see the loving message behind them. You may have been singing them without realizing it, we see you Lizzo!

“Woo girl, need to kick off your shoes. Got to take a deep breath, time to focus on you.”

Good as Hell

“Woke up feelin’ like I just might run for President. Even if there ain’t no precedent, switchin’ up the messaging”

Like a Girl

“’Cause I’m my own soulmate. I know how to love me”

3 . Lizzo Inspires us

We have all been to that dark place before. And if there’s one thing we learned from it, it’s that it’s okay go through those tough times. Because at the end of the day, we grow from the things that pull us into the dark. Lizzo lived out of her car for a year, barely ate and struggled to find things to love about herself. Now look at her! Queen of self love!

“Everyone shouldn’t have to hit rock bottom to love themselves. That’s just the society we’re all unfortunately born in—the one where you have to hit your worst and hate yourself in order to love yourself? Those laws only exist because self-hate is so prevalent.”

4 . Lizzo Has Big Fun Performances

Watching Lizzo perform, you can tell she’s having the time of her life. So many artists have choreographed routines while they perform, and props to them for singing and dancing! I could never. But most routines are robotic and are nearly over-rehearsed. Lizzo has a beautiful mixture of people dancing with her. They are uniform and having fun in the meantime. Other performers such as Rihanna have complimented Lizzo on her skills! We do too Lizzo!

5 . Lizzo Has Talents

We been knew that she can sing, and rap — and undeniably well at that. That being said, did you know that she is also a classically trained flautist? Yes, you heard us right! She even brings the flute onto stage sometimes to show us what she can do! Not only does she bring the flute to play on stage, she can twerk and play the flute at the same time. It has even been said that Lizzo has boosted the sale of beginner flutes! I can only imagine!

Ready to refall in love with Lizzo? Its like a giant group hug right here.
