Jonas Blue is back again with another incredible song! This time it features the talented Tifa Chen. You may know her from The Voice of China back in 2016. She came in second as the runner up, but her voice comes first in Jonas Blues’ new song ‘Billboard’.
‘Billboard’ captures Jonas Blues’ classic upbeat electric feel, complemented by Tifa’s voice. With the brilliant idea of alternating between Mandarin and English, it makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the song.
In fact, as Jonas wrote the song with Madison Love, known for writing along with side artist in the likes of Halsey, MGK, and Demi Lovato, he asked Tifa to take a glance at the Mandarin translations of the song!
“I always think about how I can bridge cultures with my music, how it can connect with people in different parts of the world,” Jonas explains. “Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language in the world, so what better way to make a global connection through a song. Tifa’s vocal is world-class, no matter if you can understand every word or not the flow of her voice and the vocal delivery is just divine, couldn’t be prouder of this collaboration – there’s really something special about it.”

We think Jonas is onto something with this song for sure! Listening to the song for the first time I fell in love with the lyrics. “I see you like a billboard, painted in the sky” and “you light up like Shanghai at night.” some serious heart eyes for me. 😍
Just when I thought the music itself couldn’t get any better, I saw the music video. The Music video was shot in Shanghai, and it is gorgeous. Parties, clubs, the night lights of China, just book me a plane ticket! The hues of pink and blue pulled me in and I was captivated.
The streets are busy, and fast-paced, making it the perfect scene scapes for ‘Billboards’ vibes. It also includes small clips of a music festival, perhaps paying homage to how the pair first met at a Chinese EDC festival. Clever! We see two!
