Icelandic, indie-pop band, Of Monsters and Men, have been killing it since their global debut in 2011. Their debut album My Head Is An Animal, which went platinum, produced the international hit ‘Little Talks’, which earned quintuple-platinum certification from the RIAA. The single also earned the band the record for the first song by an Icelandic band to cross 1 billion streams on Spotify. There most recent album, Fever Dream, debuted at No.1 on the Rock album charts.
If that isn’t an impressive enough feat, the band’s 2015 album, Beneath The Skin, peaked at No.3 on the Billboard 200. That same year, the band starred in an episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones. They have also supported the iconic Florence + The Machine on a high-profile arena tour.
In the band’s recent endeavors, they stopped by Triple J’s Like A Version to perform a cover of Post Malone‘s ‘Circles’. The slowed down, piano version of the popular pop song has made us emotional and gotten us all in our feels.
If you need an even bigger fix of the band, you can view their performance of their most recent single, ‘Alligator’, on YouTube here! The song paints a picture of the inner struggle between fear of the unknown and acceptance of what there is to uncover. In other words, it talks of the moment of triumph over one’s own fear.
Of Monsters and Men kickoff their international Fever Dream Tour January 14 in Hong Kong. For full tour dates, and to purchase tickets click here!
