Several months ago, Dreamville dropped their compilation album Revenge of the Dreamers III, featuring artists such as J. Cole, Lute, Ari Lennox, EARTHGANG, Bas, J.I.D, Omen, and more. To start the new year off, they have released 1/16, which consists of two singles from Ari Lennox, EARTHGANG, and Reason.
With Ari Lennox’s soulful, unique sound, and EARTHGANG’s fire bars, we promise you do not want to miss out on these tracks!
In ‘BUSSIT,’ Ari gives us another intimate song that has a perfect mix of R&B and hip-hop. If you heard her album Shea Butter Baby, then you definitely have a good idea of her sound (If not, you should totally click here to listen. You’re welcome). Again, Ari Lennox has beautiful vocals; whenever you hear her on the radio, you will instantly know it is her.
‘Still Up’ comes next on the single; it will instantly get you out of your feelings and ready to dance. EARTHGANG and Reason collab to create a banger as they reflect on their success and the luxuries that come with it. We don’t know about you, but song is going straight our playlist (Specifically our party and work-out playlist).
EARTHGANG also dropped their third album titled Mirrorland. EARTHGANG isn’t like any other rap artist today; they are also an artist that carries a unique sound (And honestly, this could be said about all of the artists at Dreamville Records). If you mess with this song like we do, then you will love their album. Click here to listen on Spotify! (Again, you’re so very welcome).
They are gonna take the rap/hip-hop industry by storm.
Dreamville Records accomplished a lot in 2019; not only did they release “Revenge of the Dreamer III” (which debuted at #1 and went gold), but they also received two Grammy Nominations. ‘Down Bad,’ one of their top singles from the album, received the nomination for “Best Rap Performance.” The album itself is also nominated for “Best Rap Album.”
You hear that? All of you have another artist to root for at the Grammy’s! We hope for the best for this talented group of artists; it’s truly what they deserve.
What do you guys think of “1/16?” Do you enjoy it as much as we do? Who else are you rooting for at the Grammy’s? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section, or tweet us @THEHONEYPOP on Twitter!
