MOBS — ‘I’ll Be Back’
MOBS is throwing it back with new single ‘I’ll Be Back”, which has an ‘80s sound to it. It’s instantly captivating with its catchy beat, and nostalgic feel. The single is influenced by the movie ‘The Terminator’. However, it very much still has the foundations of a love song. The meaning behind this upbeat dance track is about loving someone no matter the distance, and that love will always find its way back.
Magdalena Bay — ‘How To Get Physical
This tune makes us want to get up and dance without feeling bad about our awkward moves. Both the song and the video are a throwback to the 90s with the appealing visuals and sounds. The band admits they don’t know how to dance and honestly we don’t either. However just go with the flow and live in the moment! The indie-pop band took some inspiration from the Scissor Sisters ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ and we’re here for the groovy beat. Have a listen and let us know what you think!
Shallow Pools — ‘Haunted’
This song by Shallow Pools is powerful, the singers use the music and lyrics to make you feel what they are feeling. In this case, ‘Haunted’ is about “uncertainty and doubts surrounding the future,” which we all in some way relate to. Watching the video and hearing the song feels like you’re actually the person whose “dreams are haunted.” Shallow Pools have created an incredible rock song, and they accomplished their goal of releasing a track “unlike anything we’ve done before.”
Rändi Fay — ‘Intuition’
This song says to ‘Release your intuition’ and honestly that’s what you need to do when you check this track out. It is extremely catchy and packs a pop-filled electronic punch that will have this song stuck in your head for days. It has a fun vibe whilst the lyrics share a message. ‘Intuition’ explores the self-sabotage we experience when we overthink and allow our logic to overrule what the heart wants.
Calloway Circus — ‘Oxygen’
If you’ve not been listening to Calloway Circus, now is the time to start! Their new single ‘Oxygen’ tells the story of a lost romance. An ode to young love that just felt so surreal and perfect, they couldn’t get enough, almost like breathing in Oxygen. This track is a catchy pop number with beautiful lyrics, and will have you dancing and singing along in no time. The song is definitely going to make an impact on the alt-pop scene.
James Japan — Sad Boy Happy Place
James Japan has released something truly special with the album Sad Boy Happy Place and we highly recommend you check it out! The album goes through the stages of love and was entirely written by James himself!
Speaking about the album he says, “The album is a deep reflection of what it feels like to be vulnerable, in love and depressed. During the process of making the album, I felt all these emotions and I just used each song to paint the story on my own canvas.”
We recommend listening in track order but our faves include, ‘Deep,’ with its sultry and sensual vibes. ‘Over’ delivers raw emotion while being undeniably catchy and fresh and the final track ‘Ghost’ will have you dancing and singing along in no time!
We Are The City — ‘RIP’
‘RIP’ gives off a very mellow, solemn vibe. Given that the song is about a close childhood friend of lead singer Cayne McKenzie and the fading of their friendship before his death. Cayne has put his heart and soul into this song and it really shows through the raw emotion and strained vocals, not to mention the soft mellow backing track. You may need some tissues for this tune, but it is so beautiful you really don’t wanna skip it.
Baby Goth — ‘Afterparty’
Baby Goth makes us want to skip the party and head straight to the “Afterparty” with her new single, titled just that. Hypnotizing us with her hip-hop meets alternative tracks, she puts a spell on us with her one of a kind voice, that matches her out of this world image. We can’t help but agree with LA WEEKLY when they say that Baby Goth “brings a breath of fresh air to the pop/R&B/hip-hop landscape.” Check out her new single, and let us know what you think!
COUNTERFEIT — ‘The New Insane’
We’re INSANE over COUNTERFEIT’S new track and music video. “The New Insane” displays a perfect red aesthetic to capture the perfect energy of the song. The clever use of silhouetting allows us to focus in on the one of a kind riff, and drums that rock our world. Although it was hard to top the critically acclaimed song, “It Gets Better”, we have high hopes for the catchy new single. So while you impatiently wait for their sophomore album, check out the video! What type of mood do YOU think it creates? Share it with us!
Bury Tomorrow — ‘Cannibal’
Bury Tomorrow are releasing new album “Cannibal” April 3rd and these rockers are here to deliver. Cannibal is expected to be compiled of razor-sharp riffs, melodies, and vocal hooks that you’d never expect. Vocalist Dani Winter-Bates(one of metals biggest advocates for mental health) dived into his own experiences to give us his most brutally honest and personal lyrics to date. An album not only for themselves, but for the fans as well as this album will knock us on our asses, in more ways than one. While it’s jammed back with serious breakdowns, the lyrics are sure to hit us right in the feels. While you wait for the album’s release, check out the video for the title track, and tell us what you’re thinking!
