What’s Next for Gorillaz?
Get ready as they come back to a screen near you! Song Machine Season 1 Episode 1 airs Thursday, January 30th, 2020, at 7:30 GMT. The cartoon music contraption will deliver episodes fresh from the studio as they happen.
Season 1 of Song Machine will supply us with Gorillaz as an ever-evolving roster of collaborations joins them. Sorry to disappoint, but as of now, all collaborations are under wraps. Although, with a group as obscure as this, we have no doubts that these collabs will be absolutely magical. ‘
Gorillaz strives to break the mold, and this project will be unlike any other. A new concept thought up by one of the most innovative bands out there. Breaking right out of the mold, Gorillaz trash traditional recording\single\album releases. Using Song Machine to set themselves apart from the rest, as they make spontaneous releases though out the year. Yeah, we know what a TEASE.
The first song release ‘Momentary Bliss’ shows Gorillaz as they team up with slowthai and Slaves for a groundbreaking start to 2020. Each episode of Song Machine is accompanied by Machine Biter- bite-sized conversations between the animated band members and real-life collaborators.
The band’s frontman 2D notes, “Hello everyone who is reading these words. I’ll keep this short because once you say things, you can’t unsay them, and they exist in the universe forever, like Tupperware.” And with that, we are saying we are HYPE.
Don’t forget to check out the episode tomorrow night and tell us all the reasons you think it rocks @thehoneypop.
