With the GRAMMYs now over, we can stop and reflect on the awards given and the outfits shown on the red carpet. We’ve seen some show-stopping looks this past Sunday, we wondered how we could picture them into more casual looks. It’d be a bit strange to see someone wearing Billy Porter’s outfit in public, don’t you think? With that being said, we created 5 Grammy-inspired looks from our favorite looks shown on the red carpet!
Before you get your hopes up, “Polyvore” still isn’t around anymore, and we’re very upset about it. A lot of us had so many good memories on that app — especially when it came to imagining outfits with your fav (If you know, you know)! Therefore, all looks were created using SmartCloset!
If you’ve seen Billy Porter’s past looks, you’d know that he doesn’t play when it comes to the red carpet. His extravagant pieces are like his signature style, and we stan almost all of his looks.
Billy Porter wore a custom look created by Scott Studenberg from his brand Baja East. He is wearing Coach Boots that were crystallized by A-Morir, a custom-made hat by Sarah Sokol Millinery, and carrying a custom-made handbag by Judith Leibar. You can also thank Preciosa Components for giving his outfit some more razzle-dazzle!
Okay, we know what you’re thinking: This isn’t very casual! We just couldn’t ignore the amount of crystals used in his look, so we had to fit it in somewhere! For this look, we included a royal blue, bodycon dress with a Crystal-embellished Chainmail Dress (by Paco Rabanne) to go over that. We paired it with Versace white pumps, diamond studs, YSL clutch, and Gucci Sunglasses. Even though most of the pieces in this look are designer, you could always substitute (except the chain dress, that’d probably be more difficult to find).
Our queen Ari appeared as Cinderella on the red carpet! She wore a custom-made Giambattista Valli gown with gloves to match. She later changed into a skirt and crop top similar to the color above! Either way, she looked like a true Disney Princess!
Both looks were styled by the one and only Law Roach– who also styles for Zendaya! The devil works hard, but Law Roach definitely works harder. Period.
Because of the princess vibes we got from Ariana’s two looks, we wanted to execute the same idea (but in a more casual manner). In this look, we included a white crop top with silver, maxi skirt. We paired the outfit with silver mirrored sandals, Saint Laurent sunglasses, an Acne Studios cross-over bag, white hoops, and Bareminerals lipstick. Anyone could create a similar look with substituting pieces, and this is one of our favorite looks created!
Next up, we have Lizzo. There’s no doubt that Lizzo looked absolutely STUNNING on the red carpet; white truly looks astonishing on her. She wore a strapless dress designed by Atelier Versace with a fur stole around her arms. She wears a diamond necklace around her neck with metallic heels. Can you say glamorous? Let’s also thank the stylist for this look: Marko Monroe.
For this inspired look, we wanted to go a more casual route (but still pretty cute). We paired a white, lace bodysuit with a pair of white joggers and white FILA sneakers. We accessorized with Fendi hoops, a couple necklaces, a Givenchy purse, and Gucci sunglasses. As always, anything can be substituted to make the outfit more affordable. Even though this look isn’t as glamorous as Lizzo’s red carpet look, we’d say it still makes the cut.
Billie is dressed in a custom-made outfit from Gucci. She’s dressed in the designer from head to toe, including her nails, mask, shoes, and jewelry. I think we know by now that lime green is definitely her color.
Even though this look does not compare to the amount of Gucci she’s wearing, we wanted to at least keep up with the color scheme! We added a green, tie-dye turtleneck (Versace), a plain, black tee to go over it, chained black pants, and a pair of white sneakers. For accessories, the look is paired with cross hoop earrings, a couple necklaces, and a pair of sunglasses (because accessories play a huge role in Billie’s looks).
Lil Nas X
Last, but certainly not least. is Lil Nas X. We think we could all agree that he took another tremendous risk wearing all pink, but guess what? It was worth it because we are living for this look.
Like Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X wore a custom-made outfit from Versace, adding his own flair with his cowboy boots and hat. This outfit definitely stood out Sunday night, especially in the crowd. We’re hoping to get riskier, red carpet looks from him in future events!
Hot pink is a loud color, so we didn’t want to over-accessorize with this look. We paired a pink bralette with a high-waisted, belted pant, a pink blazer, and white pumps. For accessories, we added a YSL clutch and a pair of pearl & gold earrings. This classy, sophisticated look is also risky, but that’s what fashion is all about!
