Lil Wayne Has Dropped Funeral and Ironically We Are ALIVE For It

Lil Wayne is back with more music, and the hip hop community is shook. It’s been two years since his previous release Tha Carter V, which felt like longer to many of us. Shoot, we’re still not over Tha Carter III. Thankfully, he dropped a new project for us this past Friday; his brand new album Funeral is available on all streaming platforms!

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning, and one of the greatest rappers of our generation, Lil Wayne never fails to disappoint his fans with new releases.

The album consists of 24 tracks with many artists featured, such as Lil Baby, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, The-Dream, XXXTentacion, Jay Rock, Takeoff, Adam Levine, O.T. Genasis and Lil Twist. Let’s all thank Lil Wayne for collaborating with even more hot rappers!

Lil Wayne is still a rap-genius to this day. This album contains slow, vibey songs like ‘Sights and Silencers,’ hype tracks with unique production behind it like ‘Bing James’ (which has 24 seconds of silence in honor of Kobe and Gia Bryant), and songs that have a mixture of both with ‘Dreams.’ If you ask us, ‘Dreams’ and ‘Stop Playing With Me’ are definitely on replay.

He also spoke with Vibe Magazine about Funeral, saying “I love the difficulty of trying to fit in with what’s going on today, making sure I sound likeable to the ears today and having to remind myself that it’s not about what it was back then … I can’t wait to get in the studio now every night, just to see what I can come up with… Self-discovery, rebirth—call it whatever you want to call it but it feels awesome, I swear to God.”

And we can’t wait to hear what else he has coming up!
