The Amity Affliction Just Premiered Their New Song ‘Catatonia,’ And They’ve Also Got An Album on the Way

Back with their Pure Noise Records debut, The Amity Affliction is dropping their 7th studio album, Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them, on February 21! Ahead of the album, ARIA-certified Australian metalcore trailblazers have teamed up with Loudwire to premiere the new song ‘Catatonia.’

The song is insanely good, with hard metal vocals, then it gets a little smoother at parts. “I know that I should be happy, I know that I should be all these things,” Joel Birch sings. And can we talk about the music in that song? The guitars and drums just go off and we’re air-strumming and air-drumming along with it.

If you listen carefully, you’ll hear this is a sister track to ‘All My Friends Are Dead.’ We wrote it to bookend the album and keep it heavy fuckin’ metal. Lyrically, I think it ties the whole theme of the album together and wraps up what Joel [Birch] is trying to get across. Even though everything might seem perfect from the outside, sometimes being broken on the inside can never truly be fixed.”

Their Upcoming Album, Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them

‘Catatonia’ is off their upcoming album, Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them. It’ll be out February 21st, so we’ve got so much time left to be excited for it before it’s arrival.

This album is a result of our re-found love for heavy music. We wanted to make a heavier album to back up our most recent releases to let our fans know that we understand what the majority want to hear from us. We have experimented creatively over the years and are now able to apply what we’ve learned to what we consider the perfect blend of Amity new and old.
