Not much makes our little punk hearts beat faster than one Bert McCracken. So what could be better than news about The Used? Not much! The Used, founded twenty years ago, have impacted the alternative rock scene as they released a collection of albums over the years. Made up of Bert McCracken (Vocals), Jeph Howard (Bass), Dan Whitesides (drums), and Joey Bradford (Guitar), this group has made us catch fire, and we wouldn’t dare to put it out. With high energy on stage, combined with gut-wrenching relatable lyrics and melodies of poppy-punk and hard rock, they hit like no other.
After months of painstaking anticipation, fans finally get what they want; As The Used have officially announced the release of their 8th full-length studio album. Due out April 24th via Big Noise, the band will release Heartwork.
They’ve been working across the US on a SOLD OUT tour with support from Dragged Under. PLUS, they’ve rocked us the second single from the expected album. ‘Paradise Lost, a poem by John Milton’ along with a fresh ass video, both carry excessive emotion, imagery, and total uniqueness while capturing one of frontman McCracken’s favorite authors. Sharing, “I’ve always been a bit obsessed with Paradise Lost,” “I really dug deep into the poem and its author, John Milton.”
Heartwork will play on emotion and vulnerability while keeping a little bit of the band’s flair, to create absolute magic. You can see this up close and personal on their current tour as they have spent the last few weeks performing the first single of the album ‘Blow Me’ (Feat. Jason Aalon Butler) BIG SWOON. Naturally, with a dream team like Butler and McCracken, this song is absolutely explosive, while showing the raw and natural talent that both have vocally.
We can hardly wait to hear the album in full! So, for now, we’ll have these two killer singles on repeat. Let us know what you think about them over at @thehoneypop
