August Burns Red: Technical Proficiency, Flawless Grooves & Thoughtful Lyricism

Upholding the hard rock music scene with technical proficiency, untouchable flawless grooves, and thoughtful lyricism August Burns Red has made more than a name for themselves over the past 17 years. Smoking hot Pennsylvania quintet including JB Brubaker (lead guitar), Brent Rambler (rhythm guitar), Matt Greiner (drums), Jake Luhrs (lead vocals), and Dustin Davidson (bass) have announced their new album Guardians

Releasing albums in 2007 and 2009, August Burns Red hit the mainstream in 2015 with Found In Far Away Places. Standing out and landing number 9 on the Billboard Top 200. August Burns Red also was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of “Best Metal Performance” for “Identity”. Pushing harder, and landing themselves back on top in 2017 with Phantom Anthem. ABR landed themselves with their second Grammy nod for their second “Best Metal Performance.”

This record brought their career streams past the 100 million-mark (and the numbers will continue to soar), as it also earned recognition from Alternative Press and Kerrang! Selling-out shows worldwide, ABR has also given us the best holiday gift we could ask for as they’ve spent the past 15 years launching Christmas Burns Red Festival.

Tell Us More!

Now, in 2020, they are delivering us their eight full-length, Guardians under the fantastic Fearless Records. Which will be a collection preserving the band as a whole, and their definitive sound. Expected out April 3rd, ABR has dropped a video for the new song ‘Defender’!

Listen and watch HERE:

As they tour with Killswitch Engage this spring, you’ll be lucky enough to catch ‘Defender’ live hopefully. We think that everyone could use a song like this. Rambler shares“The song ‘Defender’ is about having that person who can come in and take some punches for you and be in your corner during hard times..” Pulling inspiration from their love of comic books, it was easy for the band to turn it into a sort of animated short story. Watching the pages come to life in front of you, the video for this song is equally unique and mind-blowing.

The band has also revealed that this album has been their most honestly collaborative effort to date. With team efforts both musically & vocally, ABR shares it’s the most time they have spent in the studio for one album. Super stoked for the records release; their excitement has only heightened ours. Check back on April 3rd to see how much we love the album! Until then, check out the single, and let us know what you think about this power jam, over at @thehoneypop
