Lovatics get ready to never leave your laptops again because Demi Lovato is getting her own talk show!
Quibi, a mobile video platform that will be launching on April 6th, announced on Friday that they would be partnering with Demi for a brand new short-form talk show! The show will allow Demi to sit down with experts and celebrities and discuss various topics such as activism, body positivity, sex, gender identity, relationships, social media, and wellness.
Demi told Variety that she is excited “to bring those frank conversations to a public forum, where people can have the opportunity to relate to the topics and guests, while finding room for laughter and learning.”
While there’s no set date for when Demi’s new talk show will hit Quibi, we can’t help but start thinking of who some of her guests should be.
Environmental Activist Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg is only 17 years old and yet she’s a major activist for the environment and climate change. She proves that you’re never too young to be taken seriously! We’d love to see Demi sit down with Greta on her new television show. It would also be the perfect place for Greta to promote her own show that is in development with the BBC.
Former Disney Darling Miley Cyrus
Miley Cryus and Demi have a lot in common. They’re both ex-Disney channel stars, they’ve both shed their Disney image, they’ve both dated a Jonas Brother, and they’ve both had a rollercoaster life and career. The Honey POP would love to see Demi and Miley dish about their breakout roles and the pressures they felt to keep up with the “Disney Image.” Miley could also talk about her struggles since parting with Hannah Montana and her newfound confidence with her sexuality.
LGBT Rights Activist Jazz Jennings
Jazz Jennings has a lot going on. She’s the star of her own reality series on TLC, she’s a YouTube personality, and she’s an LGBT rights activist. She’s also a published author, businesswoman, and even has her very own doll. What we love about Jazz is that she’s super outgoing and not afraid to share her experience as a transgender woman — something she has in common with Demi! Jazz would be an excellent guest for the show because she’s not only educated in LGBT activist, she’s living it!
Halsey is best known for her singing ability and songwriting talent, but she’s also an activist. Demi and Halsey have a lot in common. Not only are they both successful artists and voice of a generation, they are also both open about their personal struggles. Halsey is open about her bipolar diagnosis, as well as, her sexuality. We’d love to see Demi chat with Halsey about her decisions to include female pronouns in her songs and how important that choice was to her fans. We’d also love to hear this two dig deep and talk about their experiences with seeking treatment. Plus, it would give the pair a chance to talk about their short Twitter feud from 2017.
NEDA Ambassador Ryan Sheldon
Ryan Sheldon is an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), a motivational speaker, and a brawn model. As we know, Demi has been outspoken about her eating disorder struggles and while she could sit down with a number of people who struggle with eating disorders, we think Ryan is the perfect choice! Men are often left out of the conversation around eating disorders even though they suffer from them too. We’d love to see Ryan sit down with Demi and discuss his journey and his successful modeling career.
While there’s no set date for Demi Lovato’s new talk show, you can catch her on Will & Grace which will air later this year. You should definitely preorder Quibi though so you don’t miss Demi’s show when it starts airing!
