MelOn revealed the BTS hit, Spring Day as the only song to chart 3 years in a row on the Top 40 Yearly Chart, also charting for 156 weeks on the Weekly Chart which means it has been charting every single week since its release. What a way to celebrate the anniversary!
Along with the many achievements of the track, it is a song that has touched hearts globally and is said to be timeless – lyrically, musically and visually, ARMY crowning the song QUEEN of the BTS discography. The music video is set to reach 300M views on YouTube in 2020, check it out below.
To celebrate, ARMY planned a special hashtag which peaked at #4 on Worldwide Twitter Trends, as the fandom reminisces over the release and the impact the song has had.
There are theories regarding the song and the visuals of the music video, some linked to the fictional Bangtan Universe, whilst other links were made to movies, books and real life events which affected Koreans over the past decade. Check out some of the theories here.
It is known in the fandom that whenever a new comeback takes place or another single is released, Spring Day appears once again. It could be said that BTS’s true competition on the charts is none other than their own song, Spring Day.
