Cloe Wilder — Crying When I shouldn’t
Piano and strings just hit the soul. Cloe Wilder’s voice cuts through it all, bringing it to a beautiful crescendo. ‘Crying When I Shouldn’t” is such a heartbreaking melody. “I’m saving myself cause I can’t save you,” says it all. The music makes for a beautiful tune to dance to competitively, and listening makes us think of a ballerina landing on each beat, bringing home the emotion and kicking us in the gut.
Christina Munsey — Crystal Skies
Subtle beats and warm, omnipresent synth tones, ‘Crystal skies,’ merges electro-pop and sexy R&B sounds for an arrangement that genuinely showcases Christina Munsey’s soft sung and confident vocals. The song combines textured layers and atmospheric melodies, and it’s a song that we could honestly jam out to at any time during the day. You can tell that her songwriting comes from an internal, moody place based on her personal experiences, and she can draw from inspiration from the world around her. We can’t wait to see what else she has to offer in her new EP for me, or for you out March 6!
Maeta — Payback
This video series is just so cool! Maeta has been filming a series of music videos to tell the story of her Ep Do Not Disturb. The first video shows the suspicions she has of her boyfriend, the next video shows that he has cheated on her confirming her doubts, and this final video for ‘Payback’ shows us her gaining her confidence back. What better way to get your confidence back than a full-blown makeover? We couldn’t agree more, Maeta! If you need some confidence, her sultry R&B voice and relatable lyrics will do the trick!
Bailey Coats — SNACK
In need of the perfect song to party to? Bailey Coats has your back! ‘SNACK’ is a quirky song about empowering yourself to embrace all aspects of who you are and to be unapologetically confident in your own uniqueness and sense of self. Bailey has conquered the talent of using her voice to capture the room and give out a feel-good vibe. Overall, we love the song, and if you plan on bumping to this song, send us an invite!
Days To Come — Ashes
‘Ashes’ blends the pop genre with heavy guitar and percussion beats to create this absolute bop. Days To Come has perfected the use of their musical strengths, and it shows. ‘Ashes’ is tipped to the brim filled with lyrics we could scream at the top of our lungs. I mean, “Throw away the love, just burn it down,” we feel you guys. We feel you. Days To Come has definitely secured their spot on our daily playlist!
Jamie Mathias — Love Ourselves
Jamie blends raps and buttery smooth vocals into the emotional ballad ‘Love Ourselves,’ which holds powerful words about how much social media harms society’s self-confidence. It highlights specifically how damaging bullying can be. It’s a catchy song with a great message that needs to be yelled from the rooftops, and all proceeds are donated to Samaritans, a charity focused on mental health!
The Daily Buzz
Do you want to help clear the stigma of mental illness? Well, Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and 320 Changes Directions co-founder Talinda Bennington have teamed up to bring a unique event focused on destigmatizing mental illness to University of Southern California’s Bovard Auditorium! The host is one of our favorite comedians and doctors, Ken Jeong! Panelists will include Emo Nite LA Creative Director Morgan Freed, Rise Above The Disorder CEO Jason Docton, author and Juggling The Jenkins blogger Tiffany Jenkins, and Erin Raftery Ryan, Executive Director of NAMI Westside Los Angeles. We are so excited to hear what these incredible people have to say and how we can educate the public better about mental health and its counterparts. The event will be held on March 9!
How’s that for a sugar high? With a list like that, can life get any sweeter? We think not.
