‘God is a Woman’ – Ariana Grande

Ariana penned this incredible anthem for her Sweetener album and compares how incredible women are to the conception we have of God being great and powerful. And tbh, she ain’t wrong! This song is definitely one to make you feel mighty.

‘Joan of Arc’ – Little Mix*

Another bop comparing women to some of the greats, Little Mix‘s ‘Joan of Arc’ is a fierce album track that deserved to be a single from LM5 if we’re being honest. This self-love song is sure to get you feeling like that bitch and reminding you how great you are.

‘Dalla Dalla’ – Itzy

ITZY‘s debut single ‘Dalla Dalla’ is the perfect feel-good anthem if you’re ever in distress about being “different”. The KPOP rookie girl group has proven to be popular over the past year and with songs like this one, it’s no surprise as to why! If KPOP isn’t your first choice of music and your understanding of Korean is little to non-existent, worry not – the music itself is enough to put you in a good mood, plus some of the key lyrics are in English!

‘Still Learning’ – Halsey

‘Still Learning’ offers a different message from the confident bops we’ve shared so far. Our girl Halsey sings about the struggles with insecurities and how she is still learning to love herself. Though the current message of self-love and positivity is to love yourself, for some people it can be quite a challenge. This softer song is a gentle reminder that it’s okay if your journey to self-acceptance isn’t a straight road because we all need to learn and it is indeed a process. More reasons to love Halsey!

‘Good As Hell’ – Lizzo

Being one of the biggest songs of 2019, we still feel empowered by Queen Lizzo’s ‘Good As Hell’! Relationships ending can be something that really brings us down, but it’s important to still love you even if someone you loved no longer feels the same. Lizzo is here to remind us how important it is to keep ourselves in check even when things aren’t going right and thank God we have her!

‘War Paint’ – Fletcher

We’ve been loving Fletcher for a while now and one song that we often find ourselves feeling super empowered by is her debut single ‘War Paint’. Whether you’re going through a tough time or need that encouragement to do something, then this song is an automatic mood booster and helps set your mind to a positive focus, ready for you to achieve what you’re working towards. Even after five years, we can’t get enough!

‘Hip’ – Mamamoo

Mamamoo‘s ‘Hip’ is here to make you feel like an utter boss. The KPOP queens are here to deliver the message of staying true to yourself and being confident in yourself to an undeniably catchy beat. No matter who you are, no matter what your story is, you are hip!

‘Me’ – Kitten

We love a female-fronted band and so we had to include this utter banger from Kitten! ‘Me’ is the perfect empowerment song to hit back at those who are quick to judge us without getting to know the hardships and hurdles that we face in life.

‘6 Inch’ – Beyoncé

You might be wondering why we haven’t chosen a Beyoncé single for International Women’s Day as they’re quite the common choice, but we think ‘6 Inch’ is a song that definitely deserves a lot more love and is perfect for this playlist. For the hard-working women on the grind, what better way to feel appreciated than by this song? You got this, boo. And Bey agrees too.

‘I Love Me’ – Demi Lovato

The release of this song could not be better timed. After her recent hardships in life, Demi has been on a journey with herself and penned her conclusion to the endless conversations with herself into one of 2020’s most empowering songs. For the women who are going through it, feeling as though the impossible beauty standards pushed on us by today’s society is exhausting we recommend blasting this song and remember that you are a 10 out of 10, even if you’re not always aware of that.

‘Bad Reputation’ – Joan Jett

We’re going old skool with this one, but the song is timeless. No matter what age you are, what generation you’re from, ‘Bad Reputation’ by Joan Jett is the kind of song that makes you stick your middle finger up to unrealistic expectations the world holds against you. Plus you can really pop off dancing around your room to it, which is always a bonus.

‘Papi’ – Isabela Merced

If you’re looking for a song which is a statement for “I’m not put on this Earth for your pleasure”, ‘Papi’ is one for you. Not only is Isabela‘s song full of a strong and powerful message, but it’s also an absolute bop that’s sure to get your hips swaying. Remind the world you are your own person while also getting your groove on!

‘Hi Lo’ – Chloe X Halle

Pretty much everyone has insecurities, no matter who they are.
