Jhene Aiko: Chilombo

In last week’s Rap Up, we discussed Jhene’s new music video for ‘Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E),’ which features Future and Miguel. As promised, we’re discussing her brand new album Chilombo. If you haven’t listened to this masterpiece, we highly suggest that you do so. The album is a mixture of uptown, New York type of vibes (‘One Way St.’ and ’10k Hours’), pure, relaxing R&B (‘Lightning & Thunder’), and melodies that will make you feel like you’re floating (basically all of the tracks on this album). With Jhene’s angelic vocals and skilled poetry, this is an album we refuse to let you miss out on. Whether you need to relax your mind, an uplifting message, or simply just something to vibe to, Jhene has exactly what you need.

Lil Uzi Vert: Eternal Atake

Next up is Lil Uzi Vert, who dropped his album Eternal Atake after three years since Luv Is Rage 2. Many of his fans are raving about the project, as it reminds them of the Lil Uzi Vert from 2016 (not gonna lie, that was also a great era for him). If you’re an O.G Uzi fan, you know the vibe. With unique sounds and fire beats, the album only features one artist, Syd. After it’s release this past Friday, it already earned over 47 million streams on Spotify, which makes Eternal Atake the third album to have the biggest debut this year. We expect nothing less from the legendary Uzi!

Meg Thee Stallion: Suga

Our hot girl Meg Thee Stallion also took part in giving us a good Friday, am I right? She dropped her 9-track EP Suga, which features her previous single ‘B.I.T.C.H.’ I think we can all agree that Meg is our number one go-to whenever we need a little confidence. She did create #HotGirlSummer, after all, and she’s going to keep sending that same energy throughout. Throughout Suga, she sends out many messages that are empowering for women. Don’t tolerate or stand for bullshit, know your worth, be your unapologetic self, and that you’re hot as f*ck! Sassy, mood, nasty.
