Although TXT have not been on many variety shows before TO DO, MOAs were not surprised that TXT would turn out to be variety kings on their new show. The Big Hit group’s variety show, airing on Mondays at 9 PM KST on VLIVE and Weverse, stars the members in a series of games. Their overall goal of the series is to collect enough stickers to get a wish granted by the producers. In celebration of the 10th episode of TO DO, let’s countdown the top moments from the first 10 episodes!
Episode 1: “Hi, I’m a grape!🍇”
In their very loud and already chaotic premiere episode, the producers prompt the members to draw full bunches of grapes and to later anonymously vote on them. When it comes to the voting, each member stood up to observe the drawings. None of them were prepared for the first drawing, done by Hueningkai. A simple grape that greeted the camera with a little speech-bubble that read, “Hi I’m a grape!” They didn’t have to guess who would make such a refreshing image. Of course, Hueningkai won, to Beomgyu’s dismay over the others not having artistic tastes😂. Unknown to TXT, they had to fill in every grape on their drawings to get their wish granted. Judging by the video, you can see why Yeonjun and Soobin were very shocked at this information and why TO DO may be a very long series.
Episode 2: “When will we finish drinking at this rate?!!”
It’s hard to pick one moment from episode 2’s one syllable karaoke, but TXT struggling to complete BTS songs was the icing on the cake. Before successfully finishing ‘Blood Sweat and Tears’, the group tackled the fast-paced track ‘Dionysus’. Beomgyu, who is a huge fan of the song, insisted that it would be an easy chorus to finish. Yeonjun tried to guess how many syllables were in the opening of the chorus. They ultimately fail their first try, gather themselves up, and try again. When they still couldn’t gauge the very repetitive beat, it causes Beomgyu to lash out in his Daegu Satoori😂. Though they eventually finish the game, it was a great segment full of hilarious moments.
Episode 3: “I want you, Your Highness👑”
Whenever TXT do athletic or intellectual/charismatic activities, MOAs look to Taehyun to overcome and win in most of them. Although he is the shortest and the second youngest, Taehyun has years of athletic skills as a former competitive boxer and has natural intellect. Both halves of the maknae line are true Maknaes On Top, youngest members who outplay the older members, Taehyun surprises his members every time. In episode 3, the boys must compete to find a crowned prince who will lead the group for the episode. Their first game to find a prince is a traditional game called Alkkagi, two players must knock off each other’s stones to win. Taehyun was chosen to be in the third matchup against Yeonjun. TXT had their jaws on the floor when he calmly defeated Yeonjun, without losing a single stone. He did the same to Beomgyu and then his other half, Hueningkai, who even had an advantage with 5 stones against his 3.
Thus started a series of the members pandering to Taehyun as he was in control of their fates. Yeonjun eventually beat him in the third game, but against all odds in the 4th game, he won the title back. The members returned to kissing up to him😂.
Episode 4: Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
In episode 4, TXT are tasked with working together to collect ingredients to make traditional rice cake soup for their New Year’s party. To collect things, they have to individually pick 3 items and hope they don’t choose the same ones. In the first round, Taehyun and Yeonjun end up picking the same items to their dismay. When the members pick too many of the same things, the producers gave them an extra chance to swap one item from their trays. Taehyun and Yeonjun went back to back once again. When Yeonjun returns to the sitting room, he immediately notices Taehyun’s tray and has a look of pure regret😂. The two laughed over how similar their tastes were as Yeonjun reveals his picks. TXT are incredibly in sync, but this is the one time they wish they weren’t.
Episode 5: “What’s that?!!🐼”
Another overall meme-worthy episode, the boys first tackle the whisper game, a game they have already struggled to complete😂. MOAs know Beomgyu is the worst at this because he can barely hold his sides together and pay attention as they pass down the keywords. When they get fed up with him laughing at the end of the line, they agree to let him read the keywords instead of guessing. At the second keyword, Lesser Panda (red panda), he gives MOAs a ton of memes in 5 seconds. Doing a double-take at the chosen word, screaming his confusion, and then getting frustrated over Taehyun not getting the first letter. This game makes Beomgyu even more emotive as he reacts to the members.
Episode 6: Tyunning Telepathy
The TO DO producers challenge TXT to a Golden Buzzer style episode, a popular Korean quiz show. When they had to play a guess the image game, they had a really difficult time on a few. Tyunning (Taehyun + Huening, the duo name they made up) sat quietly together while the older members fought over answers. The camera cuts to them in the middle of saying the same sentences. MOAs were excited to see the duo being the best pair in kpop. Being the youngest, Tyunning have each others’ backs and have always been on the same level. Though it is funny sometimes to see a much smaller Taehyun reprimand Hueningkai when he’s caught cheating😂.
Episode 7: “Could we please get another chance…?”
TXT’s worst enemy, The Korean Only Game. Talking in only pure Korean should be easy, but there are so many words borrowed from other languages that are used in everyday Korean conversations, it’s hard to avoid slipping. The boys got to play a game of bingo in exchange for increasingly more expensive foods, one of the first games they played was The Korean Only Game. 10 minutes, only Korean words. As predicted, they lost within 2 minutes when Beomgyu accidentally said “Okay.” The producers gave them another chance, which they blew as soon as Beomgyu said “Air Conditioner,” and then another one … which they lost after Taehyun accidentally said “Team.” A simple game with simple rules but they agreed was the hardest challenge.
Episode 8: Discuss Mint Choco
TXT got to play more games in the second half of their dorm episode, but The Korean Only Game proved to be, once again, the funniest part. After many fourth chances, they completed bingo and were rewarded with an abundance of food. But biting off more than they can chew, they challenged the producers another 10 minutes in exchange for fried chicken. Instead of letting them wander while speaking, they were prompted to talk about mint chocolate ice cream. Miraculously, they got through a mint choco debate and cleared talking about their shower routines. The producers decided they would get off the hook after talking about their show, TO DO. The end was near until they were asked what was the name of their show. Without a single thought, Yeonjun shouted “Fighting!” and the game was lost again. Will TXT ever win this game? Who knows😂.
Episode 9: Milk Song
Like their seniors before them, TXT got to do an episode in an empty Lotte World, an indoor theme park. The first part of their adventure was a versus showdown, Hyung Line vs Maknae Line. Beomgyu played a chance fairy that could switch sides between games. In their first game, they had to memorize children’s songs and sing them while on the Viking ride. When it came to Maknae Line’s turn to memorize their song, they were relaxed compared to the older members.
Hyung Line chuckled at them stumbling on the prechorus but got whiplashed at Hueningkai suddenly rapping without stumbling. Yeonjun looked so confused at how well he did😂. The funniest part is when the duo begins their attempt and start singing at the top of their lungs. In the trailer, the pair screaming “OH NOOO!!” seemed like a response to how scary the ride was. It was just the lyrics being screamed in the middle of a scary ride😂.
Episode 10: Catch The SooBunny 🐰
In today’s episode, the second half of TXT in Lotte World, the group got to play a chase game using their new official lightsticks! Their first lightstick has a special mode called Discover MOA, which can cause lightsticks in the area to glow in response to the MOA who activated it. Using this mode, the boys search all over to find the real lightstick amongst the fake ones. Yeonjun ends up finding it and began the chase. Soobin was, unfortunately, for his sake, the one who tagged and grabbed the lightstick from him.
For the majority of the episode, Soobin successfully held onto it, which caused the producers to change the rules in fear of them collapsing from exhaustion😂. If Taehyun is the most athletic, Soobin is the least. On top of being least athletic, he is also the tallest, which made it hard for him to hide away from the boys. It caused many hilarious moments where the members couldn’t take away the lightstick, so Soobin had to gather his strength again to run before their cooldown period ended. He somehow won against a group of active boys, so he got the best out of this😂.
We’re all looking forward to Episode 11 with TXT‘s camping trip next week. We hope they collect many good memories and have the best time!
