‘Missed a Spot’ – Dinah Jane

Sexy and sassy and full of innuendos ‘Missed A Spot’ from the iconic Dinah Jane delivers a truly catchy bop! This track may be a tad racy and sexual, but it’s about telling your partner what YOU want and tbh we live for honesty and who wouldn’t want direction if they ‘Missed A Spot?’ This song has true summer and floor filler-dance vibes, and we at Fresh Music Friday stan!

‘Take Yourself Home’ – Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan gave his fans what they needed at this time with his new track ‘Take Yourself Home.’ Troye said it was of his favorite songs he’s ever written, and it’s one of ours now, too! His tender voice singing over the addicting music, it’s a dance-pop song that will be stuck in our heads all day. The song will most likely be a part of his third album, and that just makes us more excited because this song will be on our playlists for a while, imagine a whole album this good! The ending of the song has a more electronic dance vibe and it was so unexpected, but you can bet we loved the addition to the song. Plus he said he writes these songs like a diary entry, then as time goes on they take on a whole new meaning. And with the state of the world right now, we can feel the meaning relating to it. No one’s doing it like Troye!

‘Over Yet’ – Hayley Williams

Hayley Williams is best known the punk-rock/punk-pop lead of Paramore, now she’s on her own and exploring new things. With her new song ‘Over Yet,’ it feels like a throw-back pop anthem, almost as though we’ve been taken back to the peak of Britney Spears but in the form of Hayley Williams. It also has vibes of even before the 2000s, there’s really no way to describe it, and it’s epic the way Hayley can bring this sound to 2020. The song will take it’s place on her upcoming debut solo album Petals For Armor, and from what we’ve already seen from Hayley, this could be one of the best albums of 2020 and one of the most unexpected ones at the same time.

‘Wolves’ – Emma Blackery

The chime of bell-like music opens this new song by Emma Blackery. ‘Wolves’ is about having your back against the wall but deciding to stand tall and not back down. A great power song to blare in your car with the windows down on a bright summer day. Primal in its prowess and command but sophisticated and playful lyrically and musically. It perfectly combines power and femininity. ‘Wolves’ is the first single from Blackery’s upcoming EP ‘My Arms Are Open’ which drops May 15th.

‘Toosie Slide’ – Drake

Drake’s dropped a new song ‘Toosie Slide’. This song drips with Drake’s lyrical vibes. The next club song and a lil shout out to MJ himself. Sensual fit and dance moves combined with a lil fear of losing. The music is shot in a 100 million dollar mansion with Drake himself showing us the moves. Look him up on TikTok and try that #toosieslidechallenge – we at Fresh Music Friday are spending isolation trying to learn it!

‘Going Nowhere’ – Kings of Leon

‘Going Nowhere’ by Kings Of Leon reminds us all to be social distancing and staying at home, as they sing in the song “I’m going nowhere.” The video up o their YouTube channel shows the lead Caleb Followill sitting casually with his guitar, belting out the acoustic ballad. It feels cozy and comfortable, with a black and white scene. In the description to the video, they’ve got an important message: “Stay safe. Stay home. We will see you as soon as we can.” Kings Of Leon are keeping fans happy and fed with new music and new videos such as this one, and reminding us that we need to stay home and spend some time with loved ones during this hard time. Watch the touching video and maybe get a tear or two in your eyes watching the beautiful song.

‘Back To Me’ – Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan delivered an absolute anthem with her new song, ‘Back To Me.’ Her strong voice over the pop track makes us want to get up and dance and be ourselves. Lindsay talked about the song on Twitter and said “this song is about rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and letting the past go. Living in the now.” This song definitely makes us live in the moment as we’re dancing and singing along without letting our thoughts get in the way of us dancing like nobody’s watching. Along with being a rediscovery hit, it feels like a girl-power anthem at the same time, and we are here for it. Lindsay has found her way into all our playlists, and we at Fresh Music Friday can tell you that she never disappoints!

Let’s Love – Suho

EXO‘s leader Suho made his long-awaited solo debut this week! He blessed us with an album ‘Self-Portrait’ inspired by Van Gogh, as well as a music video featuring the title track ‘Let’s Love’ written for his fans. A heartfelt ballad with modern rock vibes and beautiful visuals within the video! ‘Let’s Love’ also happens to be the team slogan for EXO, which adds extra meaning for him and his fans.

‘Lonely Star’ – Oh Wonder

Oh Wonder never cease to amaze us with their music, and ‘Lonely Star’ is no different! It’s got unbelievable, ethereal vocals and poetic lyricism to take us to a whole new world. It’s emotional and showcases the duo’s talent and passion for music without even trying. It’s a beautifully written track about what it’s like to be human and how lonely it can be. BRB, we need to grab some tissues.

‘Find My Way’ – DaBaby

Of course, DaBaby is back delivering us all the bops, but this time he’s serving up a little extra. Big hip-hop up-and-comer, DaBaby has presented us with his first single of 2020 ‘Find My Way.’ Showcasing all the versatility that he’s got to offer as he balances his artistry with super-bass filled flow and melodic hooks. The extra he delivered, is that this song is accompanied by a 10-minute short, directed by Reel Goats. The short stars DaBaby, and influencer BSimone, and it keeps us wanting more. Following the pair as the secure financings for the rapper’s unwell grandmother, they ask, “Have you ever seen somebody turn into a monster for a good cause?” Transitioning between the film and the song, DaBaby teases us with his acting skills as he leaves us in suspense for a sequel, and leave us trailing his every move.

‘Magnolia’ – TOO

Mnet World Klass group, TOO (Ten Oriented Orchestra), has finally debuted! And they did so with a bang! ‘Magnolia’, the title track off their debut album Reason For Being: Benevolence (仁), is this trap, euro-pop number with explosive choreography. You can’t help to get ‘louder’ with the chorus and get ‘closer’ to the members of TOO!
