Duke Dumont has a lot for us and it’s coming fast. As a Grammy-nominated artist, he’s got a lot of things going for him. An album, Duality, out April 17th and a new single out right now. His new single ‘Let Me Go’ has Australian artist Ry X lending him some flavor from down under. Let’s check it out.
‘Let Me Go’
Complete with a neat little visualizer, it’s an all-star collaboration. Sitting at a sweet six minutes the beginning gives us chills. With a church choir-like opening we are feeling this right in our soul and the lyrics are wonderful. ‘Let Me Go’ hurts, the pain is palpable. Stuck on repeat, fixated on the anguish.
"Let me go Leave me whole Lay me open Let me run Let me hope Leave me numb Lay me open Let me run"
The music crescendos beautifully into a blinding and blaring release of emotions and sounds before suddenly cutting off. Moving into more of a dance tune the drums somehow make it still feel primeval. This song is more of a sonic exploration of pain, hurt, and the dynamic range of those emotions. Night drives never hit quite like this.
The newest single ‘Let Me Go’ follows the release of ‘Love Song’. Both will be appearing on the album. You can find the track list down below. It’s sitting at a nice 10 and with how these singles are feeling we might need to sit down for this one.
