Creativity Beyond Consumption
With issue 7 of AVANTgarden FKA twigs Beauty of the Discarded, comes together with Dazed Beauty to continue to celebrate what they like to call, “Creativity Beyond Consumption.” This issue contains images of twigs modeling the creative facial sculptures, which they created alongside makeup and mixed media artist Lyle XOX and photographed by Nhu Xuan Hua. Each piece has items donated by their very own AVANTgarden family.
Beauty of the Discarded
We think it is always so cool to see creative individuals come together to create something so creative that it is indescribable. This collection contains household images that at first glance to most people look like trash, but to the creative mind it is so much more. It takes an open mind to be able to make beautifully creative images, with a much deeper meaning than what meets the eye. All the people involved are known for presenting their massive creative sides. You can view Lyle XOXO and Nhu Xuan Hua‘s Instagram’s to see their many other creative projects. Also make sure to follow them, to be kept up to date on their latest!
So far there are seven AVANTgarden issues out currently, each showcasing a different project that FKA twigs continues to put her everything into. It also has won a Special Achievement Award at the 22nd Webby Awards! So please continue to support twigs by going back to read the older issues while you wait for the next one!.
Dazed Beauty recently started a social media challenge surrounding the project. Saying, “we’re asking you to create your own looks using found or household items inspired by Lyle’s facial sculptures.”
