If you’re a fan of MKTO, you probably remember the Bad Girls EP, released five years ago in 2015. The four-song EP featured banger after banger, including the title track ‘Bad Girls’. Sadly, as much as we would have liked music videos for all of the songs, ‘Bad Girls’ was the only music video we got. Lucky for us, however, that recently changed! A few days ago, MKTO released a music video for ‘Just Imagine It’ and we’re so excited! It might be 5 years later than expected, but better late than never right?
Honestly, the ‘Just Imagine It’ video could not have come at a better time in our opinion. The song is about imagining and hoping for a better world. It’s about using your voice and standing up to make a positive impact on others and that is a message we could all use right now. COVID-19 and quarantine changed our lives and impacted them in crazy ways. Now more than ever it’s nice to hear a song with a positive, uplifting message like this. We’re all imagining a different, better world at the end of all of this and we’re glad that MKTO knows just how we feel.
The video shows Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller (MKTO, get it?) singing in a big empty house. It may not be the most complex video in the world, but it serves its purpose in getting the message of the song across. It focuses on the message of the song, imploring you to make a change and do your part in reaching that world that we’re all imagining in this song.
Although there hasn’t been a new album or EP from MKTO, they have still been releasing music. The guys released a handful of singles including ‘Marry Those Eyes’ and ‘Party With My Friends’. We love MKTO and ‘Just Imagine It’ and we hope to hear new music from MKTO soon!
So what do you think of the video? Was ‘Just Imagine It’ your favorite song off the EP? Which other songs from the Bad Girls EP would you like to see a music video for? Let us know in the comments below or by tweeting us @thehoneypop!
