It’s life, and music in the time of COVID-19. We may be on lockdown but lucky for us, artists like Amber Mark are delivering quality content day after day. As part of a series playfully dubbed Covered-19, Amber Mark is releasing some new original songs as well as covers. One of the latest releases is the demo track ‘Waiting.’
Check it out!
‘Waiting’ is a slow, laid back vibes type of track. Amber’s vocals are clear and melodic and suit the track perfectly. Stories of friends in relationships interrupted by COVID-19 and quarantine inspired the meaning behind this track. It’s all about waiting and staying to true to the person you can’t be with right now, a very poignant message in these trying times.
Like with the rest of Covered-19, Amber Mark recorded and self-produced ‘Waiting’ all on her own. She recorded the video herself as well from the comfort of her own home. Color us impressed! For Amber, the fact that she’s able to release music without the normal pressure is a source of positivity. She says that “she’s just having fun with it” and being authentic with it. She hopes to continue with this mindset even after quarantine and we think that’s a great idea. It’s so cool to see artists releasing new music entirely on their own and showing off their talents! It’s also reminding us how the most productive thing we did today was walk from our bed to the fridge to the couch. But, uh, let’s not go there right now.
This isn’t the only noteworthy track in Covered-19, Amber Mark has more where that came from! One of the first tracks in the series was a cover of ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ by Nirvana. Following that, she released a cover of ‘The Seeker’ by The Who, which got noticed by Pete Townshend, co-founder of The Who! How amazing is that??

Prior to Covered-19, Amber Mark released her single ‘Generous’ and released an EP in 2017 so you can check those out too to hear more from her. Her Covered-19 tracks are released every two weeks so make sure to keep an eye out for those!
