It’s been 13 years since renowned singer Alicia Keys released her chart-smashing song ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’, and now Jacob Banks is sharing his own personal spin on the beloved track. He co-produced the song with his friend Sillkey and has the perfect video to go along with it. The music video was produced and directed by Savannah Setten and follows a pair of lovers and their personal experiences with the intricacies of love and affection and honestly, what could be better than that?
Banks’ inspiration for the song was Alicia Keys’ As I Am album, which had a major impact on his formative years at the start of university. Due to recently losing someone important in his life and the fondness Banks has for ‘Like You’ll Never See Me Again’ he was reminded of the nostalgic song. The result was Banks’ creating a cover of the song 3 years ago with his friend Sillkey, to try to help others find comfort in the song, the same way he did. Hopefully, you guys love the song just as much as Banks!
Towards the end of 2018, Banks released Village, his debut album. It includes his singles ‘Be Good To Me (feat. Seinabo Sey)’, ‘Love Ain’t Enough’, ‘Chainsmoking’, ‘Slow Up’, and his critically acclaimed ‘Unknown (To You)’. Following the release of Village, Jacob was selected as YouTube’s Artist on the Rise and embarked on his second world tour as a headliner, which was sold out for the European/UK legs of the tour. In addition to being an opener for prominent singers like Alicia Keys and Sam Smith, Banks has even performed at big-name music festivals such as Lollapalooza, SXSW, Austin City Limits, and Coachella. No matter where you are, keep your eyes and ears peeled because this most certainly won’t be the last time you hear of him!
