The Killers just dropped the final video in their ‘Watch This’ series with Vevo – and it’s a behind-the-scenes tea-spiller about their iconic music video for ‘The Man’!
Receiving over 43 million views on YouTube, it’s the smashing lead single from their 2017 album, Wonderful Wonderful. In contrast, the review is just lead vocalist Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci sitting in someone’s old living room. There, they recall filming the video’s sparkly illuminations of gender in Las Vegas.
Overall, here’s the breakdown:
While we’re admiring the fringe and the neon lights, Flowers explains that ‘The Man’ is about “outdated notions of what it means to be a man”. He plays 5 different lead characters in the video. However, Flowers admits that he relates most to the “daredevil”. You know – the man in the gold suit. With ‘THE MAN’ scrawled across his shoulders. We see you, Brandon!
Originally from Las Vegas themselves, Flowers reveals that they were filming 3 minutes away from his own home. Honestly, if the band came knocking on our door to shoot a music video? We’d have four new rocker roommates and a lot more fun in quarantine.
